Seams like I haven't got alot done lately.

Ah, now I see... Matt was way off, you don't have a machine that makes more hours in the day, ALL time in Kansas is shifted so a minute everywhere else is actually a week in Kansas... that's the only way to explain this comment!

I've had a slow coolant leak for THREE WEEKS, you've built the better part of an insane trail rig in that time... :banghead:

You need a little perspective adjustment my friend! :D :rotfl:

Had a business trip to St Louis and look what followed us home.

You're kidding right?? What are you going to do with THIS one?

When's the postal getting built in all this madness??? That's the one I'm waiting for! :D

Weekend progress!
Tub set back on.

Trying to figure out where to cut wheel well openings.

Looked in the Scrambler and thought maybe I should hit up DeWalt for a sponsorship!
47b8dd37b3127cceb608aaf0330e00000026101AaMmTRm4cMY

And that is not the complete DeWalt arsenal of tools.

What!!!

I figured it would be running this weekend at rate you guys have been going on it..... .......:D

Body Armour Good!

You can't go wrong with adding that stuff! It more than pays for itself!

So is 1" going to work for that clearance issue? What about engine flex?

Looks awesome! Can't wait to be with you when you wheel it! :)

Don't forget clearance for the steering shaft also. I take it that you are going to be using the stock exhaust manifolds?

Looking at that Atlas clearance on the tub, the position of the fan relative to the radiator and the motor mounts, is there any reason why you can't drop the engine down another inch or so?

I don't know what the motor mounts look like, but they seem to be up above the framerails pretty good and you have enough fan on the radiator to drop it down a little...

I had the same question about clearance with that Atlas torquing around and the engine/hood. Of course I know nothing of V8 swaps and what not, just looked/seemed close to me.

Jason,

I was just re-reading your thread from start-to-finish (drooling along the way), and wanted to ask what the additional plate is behind the 2nd-rearmost crossmember. Is it just for additional stiffness?

Craig

Maybe I missed it, but what brand of rear body armor is that? That's exactly what I'm looking for for mine.

They are wearing thin lately. Sometimes it nice to be in the middle of nowhere but it really does suck when doing a build like this that most everything is custom. Local parts stores know nothing beyond their computer screen if it doesn’t come up they have no imagination or sense enough to help beyond that. I wonder sometimes if they could even change their own oil.

Most times it's easier to make your own parts because it takes too much time to get it otherwise. Besides, it'll at least fit and probably work better than the store-purchased part.

Thanks! Mind if I ask how much they cost?
You really need to call Mike and talk with mine were custom with no wheel well cutout. I paid cash and don't even remember what I paid.
