Vintage Motorweek AMC review

Thanks for sharing. Nice quick review of the CJs. Like they said, if you've got a Jeep, you should never have to stand still.

That was great! I remember some of those Renault turds at the nearby dealer when I was in College. And also remember lusting over the CJs with their sticker price of 6k.

You gotta love the 3 lug wheels on the Le Car. I don't remember any other car that had that.
Honestly, I always liked the look of the Spirit and the SX4, though I never had a chance to drive either. I did drive the Alliance, and it was not something I ever wanted to drive again.

I remember sitting in a brand new AMC Eagle wagon as a kid. My dad loved those cars but never had one.

My wife's grandma had an Eagle wagon until about 1991 when she traded it in on a saturn wagon. I was a little ticked that she got rid of that one. I would have bought it from here. I know they did not give her anything for it.

Nice bit about the key fob lock

And did you catch that line about the oil pressure gauge only working when the car is off? What the...?

Very Cool. thanks for sharing that link!!

I have had this one in my bookmarks a while, would love to find this much detail on an 8, but here is an entire feature on the 7, its an 82 model, I guess they got the published date vs the model year thing screwed up:)

I was thinking the same thing, but did he say oil "level" vs pressure? I need to watch it again. Also, why did the guy do about 30 circles in the Reliant? Steering stuck? Ha

Maybe it was level. Still odd. And I was wondering about the circles as well. Was that the point that the narrator said that was from the French and still needed to be helped out by American know how? Haha.

We had a LeCar... first new car my Mom bought herself... it lasted about 4 years, then she sold it to get a station wagon as the family expanded... too funny!

Bwahahaha! I just spit up my coffee! I had the same reaction when I heard him say that!

Speaking of oil levels, in high school I worked at a Chevron station (back when "Full Service" was the norm. We also had a "mini serv" lane, where we would pump their gas, but not wash the windshield. Some people would ask if i could check their oil, which I would do. If it did happen to be low, 75% of the men ALWAYS wanted to see for themselves, as if they couldn't believe it was low. I always felt like saying "If you were so confident it was full, why did you ask me to check it, and secondly, why didn't you just check it your own self???

Somebody say stepside?

You say stepside, I say Sportside :)

And Jersey, you would be correct! The owner of this is a guy in Belgium who goes by the handle "sportsidedan" on IFSJA.org. He and his gang have a tassel of FSJ's that are absolutely stunning body off restos. I'll post a few links this afternoon.
