Yeah those things are getting thinner and thinner but the price gets bigger and bigger. The last one I had that I could afford was down to an 1/8 inch thick. Reminded me of the bottom of my shoe. :rotfl: It was only a decade back I was buying whole ribeyes for $ 3.99 & $ 4.99 a pound and carving my own big ones. Those do look delicious !
 
We usually just bite the bullet, and buy a whole prime rib from the local restaurant supply. Then we slice it in to thick ribeyes, and sometimes leave a roast at the end.

Just imagine grinding the roast for some delicious burger!
 
These freeze very well, they are actually great right out of the freezer, just have some good teeth when they are frozen. IMG_5143.jpeg
