Why are so many scramblers popping up for sale?

Is it just me, or does there seem to be an abundance of scramblers of all shapes and sizes coming up for sale?

Are these people trying to cash in on the upcoming Gladiator pickup?

Are these people that want the gladiator instead?

Just around the south-central texas region, there are about 10 scramblers that are for sale or have been for sale in the last month.

Does this happen around this time each year?

I'm talking to someone thinking of selling his Scrambler for that reason.

Out of those 10 in south-central Texas, any decent original ones that you know of?

Scramblers are extremely rare around here. I have only seen a couple in the last 2 years. I know someone who bought / fixed / sold 1 and that is it.

Ag - The number for sale around here seems to go in cycles. Texas probably has more 8’s than any other state. As time goes on, more of the rough ones surface and fewer of the clean ones are available. Think this is the normal situation as any classic car goes up in value. As the supply of clean ones starts to dry up, prices rise causing owners to sell their worn hunting /farm scramblers for way more money than they paid for it. IMO the new Gladiator release has nothing to do with the scrambler rise in prices.

Out of those 10 in south-central Texas, any decent original ones that you know of?

I have not seen any I would call original. Mostly worn out, cobbled together, abused, or neglected ranch vehicles with a few that appear to have been assembled from multiple vehicles.

The closest is the one at select jeeps, south of Houston. But they want a Jeep specialist premium for it. And I don’t think it is really original. It is really nice, but I’d rather spend $35k building what I want. I am sure someone out there will spend the money on it, plenty of well paid executives in the Houston area.

It's almost spring, people are cleaning out stuff, always happens and Scramblers in general are all kinds of cyclical.

I seriously question how much good a 2018 4-door Jeep pickup will do for anything related to the Scrambler's popularity. MAYBE if they'd tried to reuse this name instead of Gladiator, but outside of an odd few people who may get a memory sparked, I just don't see it
