What's your Career?

It was the Polynesia. Back in 1997 I believe. Before the Phantome sunk in the hurricane.

My title is Technical Screen Printing and Rotary Converting Applications Specialist. I work for a industrial machinery manufacture and work to develop manufacturing processes for everything from sand paper disc to thin film capacitive touch panel displays and photovoltaics. I got my BS in Graphic Technologies and, am currently trying to convince management (the wife) to let me go back for a mechanical engineering degree.

I am a retired high school principal from the mountains of NC and currently work as a district office school administrator in SC. I bought my '83 Scrambler almost two years ago and have been working on a complete frame-off restoration that should be finished this Spring.

Welcome 7891golf. I'm very familiar with the Weaverville, NC area. Beautiful mountain area. I would go to a church camp there every summer when I was a kid, with my uncle, who is a pastor, and his family. My son was also recruited by Mars Hill College to play football so we made a few trips there for visits and workouts. He ended up not playing there.

je suis pharmacien et j'ai eu une double carrière industrie/pharmacie de ville;
aujourd'hui je suis responsable de la fabrication des doses journalières pour les résidents de maison de retraite à l'aide d'un robot, le l'industrie dans une pharmacie de ville, en somme !!!!! encore 10 ans de travail;
et le jeep: une CJ7 achetée il y a juste un an pour aller chercher mon bois de chauffage (il n'y a jamais eu de CJ8 en France)

Thanks Bryanf. Mars Hill College is what brought me to the area. I played basketball there many years ago. My wife also played there and we fell in love with the area and decided to plant our roots here. We grew up in Robbinsville and had a ball 4 wheeling at Teleco before they closed that ORV site. Our parents still live there and we enjoy visiting and especially like the isolation of the Big and Little Snowbird Mountains for a weekend ride.

I had a sawmill for a long while, then transitioned to being a captain on Tall Ships. That mill work is a young man's job! Driving a big sailing vessel is a lot like driving my junky old wheel loader - you can only encourage it to go where you want, can't run over anything, etc. Now I'm staying home more (got married) and sailing less and 4-wheeling more...

Man, I just keep needing to meet you in person more and more... wow. At this point, in my head you're the guy from the Dos Equis commercials, but cooler.

Hahahahahaha! Come up any time! For good pictures of around here, my wife took a bunch of nice ones. Look up "Art of Winter" online or at Amazon or Barnes&Noble. Or on her Website at juliemcovert.com

Held many jobs from the time i was 14 ..from cutting grass/landscaping to exterminator to misc tractor work to cutting trees on the wkds w/ my now Father-in-law (arborist as 2nd job) thru college. Graduated Clemson in 04', started working in Commercial Construction as a salesman, estimator, project mgr and now VP but still do the same daily tasks. We are a design build company based in Columbia SC w/ an in-house architect. Have built developer owned buildings such as Tractor Supply, Dunkin' Donuts and recently finished up a Moes' and Smashburger joint restaurant bldg. Currently looking for a bench seat to fit the front of the scrambler to fit the wife and 16 month old. Spare time i like to hunt, fish, ride the tractor and scrambler. Had a CJ5 in college, sold it and bought an FJ40, now i m back w/ the CJ's w/ scrambler. Dont foresee selling it. too much fun. My uncle has a 75 CJ5 that he bought new from Hinkles in Pickens,SC..still has it and has 81k original miles. That began my love for CJ's.

Go Tigers! My plan was originally to go to Clemson for Architecture but plans change. I actually live 7 miles from CU now and I am from Pickens originally.

Jacques,
Merci pour raconter votre histoire. Bienvenue sur le forum.

Loosely translated from our CJ enthusiast abroad.

I am a pharmacist and I had a dual career industry / pharmacy;
Today I am responsible for making daily doses for residents of nursing homes, in a pharmacy industry town, I've done this for 10 years now.
I bought a jeep CJ7 just over a year ago to get my firewood (there has never been a CJ8 France)

I've spent the last 8 1/2 years in online marketing and advertising. It's amazing to stop and think how much my industry has changed since I started.

Spent 10 years as an auditor for a finance company, working 60 hours a week – feeling like I was in a pressure cooker. SO, I went back to school and have spent the last 10 years as a middle school teacher, .....working 60 hours a week – feeling like I’m in a pressure cooker. Seriously, I enjoy my job; especially today – snow day in southeastern Michigan.

With nearly 30 years invested into my career, I've managed to arrive about 3 steps above Whale Poop in the Sea of Life. ;)

My career has migrated over the years from serving on-board a Nuclear Powered Submarine, through Nuclear Power Plant Operations and now I am Program Manager overseeing operations associated with the removal of the used nuclear fuel bundles from the storage pools to interim storage containers at the power plant sites.

Hence the stage name Irradiated Fuel. :D

Just started my 27th year with Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. employed as a wildlife biologist. Love my job. I get up every morning looking forward to it. It's not so much about the animals and habitat, as much as all the neat people I get to meet.

I am also big into kayak fishing. So meld BIOlogist and kaYAK and you get BIOYAK.
