Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

Posting tonight about last night's beer...because after a couple of these, you're in no shape to be near a computer. went in to the local growler fill shop to see what was new...they had Deschutes Brewery Black Butte XXV 25th Anniversary Edition! From Deschutes' website-

Black Butte XXV
25th Birthday Reserve

Porter
Limited Quantities
Alc. 11.3% | IBUs 64
Dates, figs and chocolate. Black currants, barrel-aged in bourbon casks. The result is an Imperial Porter with a tart berry and chocolate aroma with luscious layers of dried fruit, oak and vanilla. A fitting tribute to the 25th Anniversary of our flagship beer.

Yes, it is good and packs a punch.

First pour-

Talk about dark- that's the sun trying to come through...not a chance.

Hey Jim, does the Cellar still have the kegs as urinals? That place was a dive when i went there in the late 80s to early 90s. Loved it!

Dude...You do everything right. You are an inspiration to all.

I went away from beer tonight...my wife and I finished a pitcher of Red Cactus Margaritas with some tableside guacamole. Yum, yum!

Dude thank you. And dude I can't wait to get back out to Oregon. The third time will be the charm, I promise.

The Carton is much better than the Neshaminy Creek buts i Think that because the Neshaminy Creek is not hoppy enough for me. But I'll be bringing a gallon of each out to sandblast camp grounds for a taste testing.

I hope so! Maybe next time you're out here for another pickup we can make a Pacific Northwest Get-Together.

I'll keep my eyes open for a suitable candidate, although it looks like you're doing a great job yourself... There is a nice bone stock red '7 in a side yard about a quarter-mile from me...still working on a plan to get that one.

I got to taste both of them this weekend ;) They were both yummy, I am sure you all will love them.

This was a "Beer Weekend"

Saturday, breakfast at McKay Cottage, Bend.
Fried Egg sandwich with Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale. My wife joked this picture was the 3 B's...Breakfast, beer, and , well, I'll let you figure it out.

Last Night- I BBQ'd tri-tip and had some Full Sail LTD #3 Lager, Yum, Yum!
IMG_0374.JPG
Had to show off the excellent tri-tip and my new Boker Titanium Knife set. (gift, I can't afford that!)
IMG_0376.JPG

Fast forward to this afternoon, on Scout Lake. Base Camp Brewing In-Tents IPL (India Pale Lager). Wow...smooth, hoppy, nice.

To Be Continued...

How to end the weekend? With more goodness, at Pig and Pound in Redmond. Dinner was the "Oink and Boink", a killer burger with a beef/pork patty and bacon mayo. And, a Klamath Brewing Vanilla Porter.

IMG_0391.JPG.

For dessert- a concoction they call "The Pig". Two layers of chocolate cake, whipped ice cream like filling, drenched in chocolate, surrounded by strawberry sauce, and a hazelnut /bacon confection on the top! They had me with "Bacon"! With Phat Matts IPA...the perfect way to end the weekend.

See, Eric! Bacon!:bacon:

Oh wow. Very nice on all fronts

This was a cheap beer weekend for me mostly, I did sneak in some Rouge Hop Devils and a Dead Guy on Friday and a Dark Horse Brewing Plead the 5th Imperial Stout to start Sat night before I went to work clearing out a neighbor's fridge of Busch Light that his family left behind last visit (he's not a beer drinker  but he wouldn't throw away any alcohol willingly).

Can't complain because he's the guy who loves to smoke tons of meat and then invite everyone over. Sat night was deer tenderloin, brisket and beef ribs.

Good times.

I am lame. I was just drinking the Flying Dog Oyster Stout from the variety pack in the fridge.

Although Thursday I had a few different brews at the Lost Rhino brewery that is local to me. I just can't recall the names. I stuck to the wheaty and darker beers though.
