The west coast tripping chapter is finally coming to a close as this is the last piece of the puzzle....it got picked up this morning in CA. Should be here in 5-7 days.

Washed the sign last night and also discovered its not the light up variety. I assumed it was given the weight but it must have a very thick frame.

You can fix that...a few led's or fluorescent bulbs....

I wanted to get the similar sign from the local Jeep dealership when Chrysler closed it. Even though I used to work there, they weren't letting it go. I heard that a bulldozer eventually removed it... same with all the old parts books...I offered to buy them...heard they got thrown away...

My first vehicle was a 79 cj5 renegade just like this...love that powder blue..they should bring back that color..mine was a 79 what model is this one?

Thanks! It is also a 1979 and its a one year only color called Wedgwood Blue. They didn't do a light blue in 78 and in 80 it was a more medium blue called teal blue.

Funny you post this tonight but yes it did make it to NJ tonight at around 8pm. But on the way back picking it up from the transporters yard the silverado broke down so i drove the CJ5 home, grabbed my cherokee to get the trailer and a towing company to haul the silverado. But all that later it's 130 am and all is back AOK most importantly the 5 is in the same condition I left it in. Il get some more pics up soon. The wheels tires winch and top are coming off and its going back to all original with white wagon wheels with red stripe, tracker at tires, and a levi blue bikini top.

The one I had came with a white rag top. I do think the levi blue would look better. I replaced the whit top with a blue fastback top and it looked pretty good.
