Thats IS lot or RPM's that old style engine. He was running it that high for several years. He assembles engines from stock willys 4 banger to 1000hp+ race engines for a living. Most old 6 guys can't believe he runs it that high. It is a fun car that attracts as much attention as clean, paid to be built hot rods. He has it running again with another engine. H e has owned it over 40 years and in the last 12 years it has had 4 different engines, stock, stroker, big cubic and this was his radical engine. He runs it in H-gas so unfortunately he has little competition these days. Daily driven(among his truck, 63 vette, 66 Chevy II) rain or shine year round, not in the snow though.

"It just needs EFI tuning" is the same as "It just needs the A/C charged" in a Craigslist ad. With talking to people on the phone, you never know what you will see when it shows up.

This is what happens when you do not add oil to your rear axle and go out and run it. I'm sure that this pinion bearing and the housing in that area was somewhere between cherry red and translucent to melt the originally straight steel rollers to a diagonal.

I think if you throw a horseshoe on the back of that, you can tow a 53' trailer...
