Yes that is factory, just like mine, only I have original silver still on it.
If it is still sealed up well I wouldn't mess with it.
Once it is cracked or opened up to weather and water behind there, then rust and trouble can happen in there over time. Under the rollbar can be the most troublesome area.
What did it cost you to get all of that blasted?Back from the blaster, no major surprises other than this cement-like seam sealer looking stuff on the inside of the firewall that was applied by a blind person with a brush three sizes too big. Is that from the factory? Should I heat/grind it out?
2k. Pricey but I'm glad I did it. It revealed a few problem areas under the multiple repaints that I wouldn't have found otherwise.What did it cost you to get all of that blasted?
What primer are you going to use? Are you going the POR15 / rust encapsulator route? I blasted the bottom of my tub and my next step is to blast the inside of the tub and will go with the por15 since I have used it before on my Tacoma's frame.
