After heading to Sand Hollow and watching bigwalton wheel in the RHD, I managed to come home and buy a decent, stock Alaskan Postal less than 3 miles from my house.
I first noticed this postal on a mountain bike ride maybe 8 years ago, and I don’t think it moved from that spot in the driveway...
So during our third national, my wife mentioned that she liked that Postal that bigwalton has. I mentioned to her I knew where one was sitting and she asked me if I had tried to buy it. Well, no, but I fixed that. Overall, pretty good shape and bought it off a rural mail carrier
Mahindra ROXOR
This had a familiar look and some appeal, with a turbo diesel, manual transmission and a willy-ish look. Not sure if someone else already had a thread about this thing

I figure I am kind of hosed on this one, but this group has seen and tried a lot so I figured I'll throw this out there. Almost completed install of my soft top then realized I am a few inches off when the tail end of my roll cage throws in some interference.
Friend says chop the roll cage...
So over the years I have proven not to be brave enough to drive over 55mph in my Scrambler due to side to side body roll that kicks in and gets worse with more speed in that region.
I currently have a Rubicon Express 4.5" lift with Rubicon Express monotube shocks, and 35" tires. Some input I...
It was snowy around the house and the family wanted to get out, so we took off this past Saturday in the Scrambler and headed to Sedona. We planned to do the Broken Arrow trail, but had someone meeting up with us who wanted to do Soldier's Pass, so we decided to do that one first and then...
Took the kids out for their first real trail ride yesterday. Trail goes up Moss Wash and to the long ago abandoned Gold King Mansion. Pretty impressive for a building such as this to be built in such a rugged area pre-depression. Had a variety of Jeep generations in the group along with other...
Took a trip Sunday and picked up a new truck. It took months of negotiating but I think it will be a fun project. I don't have any real plan on what I am doing with it yet.
This will help me to motivate me to finish up some things on my Scrambler and to organize things in my shop to get to...
Since I am starting with nothing, what is the best overall setup for a CB radio? I assume a big antenna and a unit with a base, but not sure what the SSB or AM CB radio? Something newer like a Cobra 29 LX or Uniden 880 or Uniden 980?
There may be a previous thread on this but I dug for...
Maybe it is already somewhere in a thread, or maybe it should be obvious to me, but I can't seem to figure out the right way to wire the third brake light (LED in the spare tire) on the scrambler.
From what I can figure out the brake and the turn light are controlled through the same wire and...
I noticed and have gotten a couple of comments from others that my shackles appeared to be a bit pigeon-toed. I am not sure why this is, the rear leaf spring mount is still the original piece on the frame and everything up front is tight, but it does definitely look like the springs are not...
So a couple of weeks into regular driving of my Scrambler I had what I will call a "rough shift" into second gear. The rest of the day, second gear has a faint, high pitched whine to it and 3rd occasionally chimed in with something similar. 1st and 4th didn't seem to be any different than...
Well, found out the original perches for the leaf springs don't cut it, after very minimal driving (and my u-bolts perhaps not as tight as they should have been) the original perches folded. The originals were full of dirt and rust when I started cleaning things up during the project. The...
The nipple off the front edge of the replacement brake proportioning valve I have is dripping brake fluid. I am not sure what the issue is.:evil: The rest of the brake system seems rock solid, but one day after working on fenders and some other stuff it started dripping.
It seems like...
Spent the whole weekend getting the Jeep working, and haven't looked into it at all, but I am going to need a throttle cable for my engine/pedal setup.
Have the stock accelerator pedal, and an early LS style manual throttle body. Anyone happen to know of a direct fit cable? I am sure I can...
I think I am missing something, and it is probably just knowledge. The original strap and bolts for the original driveshaft are not compatible with the strap on the C-V of the driveshaft I managed to pick up in the package deal with my transmission.
The original bolts thread into the yoke...
So I am looking forward to hopefully completing my Scrambler this summer, and getting out with the family in the forest. Since it took a couple of years to get done, it looks like I will have less than half as many miles of forest road to travel...
I am almost 100 posts in on this forum now, and this forum has been a tremendous resource for me. When I started into this project, I had in my past managed to successfully change an alternator once. Other than that, oil changes were the extent of my auto expertise. Additionally, I had no...
Have been learning about brake systems as I have been building my Scrambler. After learning that the way to fix a double flare joint leak is to loosen, then tighten, I have done this a number of times. Then I thought I had everything sealed up.
A few weeks later I found that some cardboard...
I am a mechanical novice and have been learning a lot in building up a Scrambler. So I learned a lesson in installation of ball joints on the knuckles. Torque the lower ball joint, then use a special spanner tool to torque the sleeve around the upper ball joint before torqueing the upper ball...
