Bad Karma, yes, I had seen your LJ rear seat write up and referenced it in the original post. I guess the link did not copy write. I was going to go that route but decided to not have two halves of different seats laying around or try to sell them.
I also noticed the Pirate4x4 link did not...
Bad Karma, it seems that we tackle the project in different ways. I did think about doing what you did and just cutting everything down the middle but I really wanted to keep the floor brackets in the LJ in the same location. Also I tried to minimize cutting of the frames.
Did you do a write...
This one is different than others or at least did not find any threads of this being done.
My wife motivated this thread after our last Jeep Jamboree trip. After we came back she says to me... I want a rear seat with headrests in our LJ. She feels that the kids will be a little more protected...
Are the CJ8 rear fender flares the same as the YJ rear fender flares?
Can I mount YJ rear fender flares on the CJ8 without body modifications?
Thanks for the input.
It is an 82 Scrambler, 258, T-5, Dana 300, 3.31 gears, OEM chrome wheels 15 x 7, Rubicon Express 4.5" lift.
Right now it has 235/75/R15. It looks dorky since it has a 4.5" lift and small diameter tires. It feels like it has power on the road. Have not taken it off-road and it is not a...
Everyone thanks for the awesome input.
I accidentally left some set up information out. Here is what I have:
82 Scrambler, Engine 258, Transmission T5, T/C Dana 300, Differential gears 3.31 in wide track axles, OEM chrome wheels 15 x 7(?), and a Rubicon Express 4.5" lift.
I am trying to...
I am looking at getting some needed tires for my Scrambler. Engine 258, Transmission T5, T/C Dana 300, Differential gears 3.31.
If I get 31" x 10.5" tires:
- Do I need to regear to 3.73 or 4.10 with the 258?
- Do I need to regear to 3.73 or 4.10 if I was to swap to a 4.0L?
- What lift height...
Rear Step Bumper Brackets
I just got a prototype set of all the brackets made from my drawings, except for the spacers. They look like originals. Once I make the spacers, I will get some bolts and take pictures off and on the Jeep.
New price
So far the new quote for the kit of 8 brackets (painted) and 2 spacers (painted) without hardware is around $130.00 plus shipping if we buy enough for 10 Jeeps. A kit with Grade 5 hardware would be around $150.00 plus shipping.
I have another quote coming in next week.
Anyone...
I did try moving the one I have to the outboard position and the holes do not line up with the slots on the cross member.
If you have the spacers it would be great to know their length and outside diameter.
Thanks!
Thanks for posting that. My service manual does not have any info on the rear bumper.
I made drawings for the chassis brackets and will send them out for quote. My Jeep is missing the outboard brackets that bolt to the chassis, so I measured on the Jeep and assumed that the bend radius is...
Thanks for the info on JWjeep.
Also, I looked under my Jeep and found another bracket that has only four holes. Now to my surprise that bracket was attached to the frame with only one bolt on the frame side and it had a really really thick washer on one side. Is the way it supposed to be from...
Thanks for the pics of the brackets. That is very helpful! I did not know that those other brackets were part of the kit. I could make drawings for those also if they are in my Jeep.
I agree....would you mind posting the instructions?
Who is JWjeep? Is that a member here or a store...
