1984 Alaskan Postal Scrambler Build

What corner panels did you use? Did you like them? I couldnt find any of original gauge... all 20 or worse.....

Couldn't find anything the correct thickness either. I ended up using Crown corner panels. Not perfect but definitely usable....

Forgot to post this a while back, but have had a few other projects come up. One including remodeling our small shop and insulating, wiring heating/ac, adding a bar, etc. which we are just getting started on and will be done by mid February. But much more importantly, I have another big announcement:

Our family is expecting the arrival of our first son this April! This announcement has prompted me to realize how fast time goes. I started this project before I had any kids, now I'm expecting a third. Time to knuckle down and get some work done one the shop remodel is complete!

Congradulations! April 23 is a good day for a birthday. Just say'n.

Thanks guys! I'm beyond excited! All the more reason for me to add the full cage and third row seating to this build.

Nothing really tech related but the Postal did come out of the shop for the first time in a couple years so the remodel of our smaller shop can get started this Tuesday. Had to be flat towed but first time it's rolled in a long while:

Congratulations.
Nice uh....."shed" more sq ft than my house....could also be read as extremely envious. How big is your "little" boat👍

Bump for progress and third baby pics! I love looking at your work Colby, I hope things went well with the baby boy and the rest of the Postal restoration work

Also just wanting to check that you still have both of these postals for the Postal/World Cab thread we started today.

I’m long overdue with updating this thread! And the third baby is now over 6 months old! Will get the thread updated when I get back into the US. Have had a few other projects get in the way but body work has continued on the green Postal. And yes, I still have both of my Postals with their tops! One thing, on the list of known postal’s, I am no longer in Texas, back home for good in Kansas so their locations can be updated. I believe I am line 32 and 33.

Excellent! Congrats on the third little one! I'll update the list and look forward to the update.

old thread, lurkin for measurments on the top (shop just gots 48 inch break).

Thanks for documenting so very, very much work!
I'm wondering where to go for 'schematics' (exploded view) of the overland, world, or Alaska Postal top/doors that is
so unique to your CJ. I see it in early posts (dont we all just lub pic!) & understand you "beoke it down" B4 storage? (for complete rebuild similar to these foregoing 8 pages).

Here's hopin all's well w/U / ur family.
