And back to the CJ8 which is booked in with the paint shop at the end of April so i thought i had better get on with it...
so it was back to a world of bodyfiller, dust and just hard graft....

Stuck some high build etch primer on before i left to help me find all the imperfections and also stop it going rusty as i may not get back to it for a week or two.
I love the way primer makes things look good even though they arent , still a long way to go before i dare present it to a paint shop.

Back to it for a bit and the pain and misery of bodywork continues, struggling with 2 wheel arches and that bit at the front on the drivers side but i reckon its not a million miles off, (painter man will tell me different, of that i am sure )

its officially going for paint next week, body work is finally out of my hands
In order to make it mobile i had to give it a temporary Hot Rod look.just to make sure it can drive itself on to the trailer and in to a spray booth.

There's a company that cuts custom dashes with basically any layout you want. I'm not remembering the name, but there's multiple references on here if you search for dash threads.

I would do as @bigwalton says, It is just a mirror image of a LHD dash so it would be far simpler to get one made than trying to get an dashboard from a RHD model that hasn't been cutup or altered in some way and after shipping it just wouldn't be cost effective,.
You may as well just have a new one to your own design with the bits you do or dont need added or removed.

Other than that luckily there aren't many specific RHD parts and what i am finding at the moment is that what is available for either LHD or RHD Jeeps is now getting rarer and therefore far more expensive, its possibly the same story in the States with jeep parts.
Even scrap Jeeps are worth big money now as they are becoming hugely collectible due to the lack of them left over here., great for the values of the ones i already own, not much good if i want another cheap "project"

Double D did mine. They are fantastic to work with and they'll do any bloody thing you want. You could do RHD Laredo with clock and tach, custom gauges, you name it. They don't recognise limits and it's nice, thick stainless.

Jeep still sat here so i got a bit of ali cut, rolled slightly, drilled some holes, rounded some corners off and made myself a new transmission cover.
Need to do something about the shifter boots, but they can wait.

The shiny bit was a bit too shiny so i painted it ermmm shiny black, may paint it to match the rest later let see how it goes....

Well she has gone, there is a hopefully short term Jeep sized hole now in the workshop

The hardtop i got with the Jeep needs attention, so as i am missing a Jeep at the moment but want something to work on i thought i would get on with making the thing look a bit more presentable.

Good wash and a sand down.


A coat of the white Graveltek stuff,which hopefully remains flexible enough,Either needs another coat or some white paint on the top as i ran out As its Sunday i cant get any more so it will have to wait.
