'84 Postal - Do What?!?

I approve this plan! It would be sweet to see a cherry era-correct Postal. The show magnets would be a nice touch, and maybe a repop cargo net partition. I'm also in the AMC blue category for the engine....make it look nice, as I know you will.

Yea. I figure the next owner won’t care that the motor is beautiful AMC blue versus boring black. Blue it is

@bigwalton - yep will have to go custom route with the rear springs. Probably call up Alcan

Next owner...Is it too late to stake my place in line? LOL.

no one lined up for this one yet. When it's complete and when/if I decide to sell it folks on here get first dibs for sure.

Got a good pic of the left side sticker under the door.

I have a desire to have a near stock postal in my collection. If it ever happens for me, I would want a near stock as possible. Near duplicate to the one in the museum in Alaska currently.

But, your plans is VERY exciting.

That would peel the paint, wood off my house. Heck that would remove the mortar off my brick also.

Well I guess it isn’t gonna work on itself. This was today’s work. Body is at the shop for metal work now. Above I said I hoped to start on it in six months That was April of last year. Not too far off my plan!FB4F61AA-8F96-4D8F-991D-2FB71A90F9B1.jpegD6BA3408-0F8E-4450-A666-2B21371BDC5A.jpeg

Other than one rear body mount hole being wallered out the frame looks amazing. Plenty of pics to come over the next week or so. Hope to have frame and other multiple parts to sandblaster / powder coater in two weeks.

Is most of the undercoating still on the frame? Still pliable? I've never seen anything like it and every one of these that I've seen has a frame that's in amazing condition considering their use.

Assume you have the extra frame reinforcement plate just at the front of the rear axle hump on both sides? All of these that I've seen have that too.

Correct on all counts. I’ll be sure to document the differences compared to a standard frame

I found on mine that the inside of the front and rear doors were sprayed with Ziebart too.
