Another Scrambler Purchase/Road Trip - UPDATE- BODY ON FRAME AGAIN

Still not drivable, but I put the tires on it last night.

From the floor to the bottom of the front bumper = 27.5"
From the floor to the bottom of the rear bumper = 29.25"
Overall height at top of roll bar is close to 80" (6'-8")

Hope it fits through the garage door, it will be close.

The front tires rub on the leaf spring retainer clip bolts at full turn. I can switch the bolts around and then slightly adjust the stops and it should not rub. Another 1" of rim offset and it would have cleared perfect.

Shortlist to make it drivable:

fill brake system with fluid and bleed
install/tighten all the body mounts
hook up emergency brake

That is just the list to make it drivable, still have a bunch of other things to do, too (install top, decals, finish doors, install door strikers, bed mat, rear bumper/tire carrier, some sort of rock sliders,winch,OX locker cables, Mopar MPI, etc. etc.)

Unfortunately, I will be too busy doing other stuff (work, jeeping, fixing other peoples junk, house sitting) to work on my Scrambler. Hope to be driving it in 2 weeks or so.

My buddy Nathan, who bought my old brown CJ-7, came by last night and helped me bleed out the brakes. They bled out really easy, plus all the fluid coming out was super clear, probably due to the fact that all the lines and brake components are new.

After we bled the brakes, took it on a quick "drive", backed it out of the garage and pulled it right back in.

Fits through the garage door, but just barely. I have about 2" clearance between the garage door and the roll bar. I think when I put the soft top on it might rub. Hopefully the springs will hurry up and settle.

Not the best pictures, since it was dark out, but the first time it has moved under its own power from out of the garage in 9 months.

Need to hurry up and finish tightening up/adjusting the body mounts, tub, and front sheet metal so i can drive this thing.

That short little drive has really recharged my batteries to get this project finished:D

Definitely break out the sunglasses for the first daylight run. That baby even sparkles in the dark!:thumbsup:

I wasn't too sure how the red, nutmeg, black, and white would look, but I think it looks good. It is definitely colorful:D

I will try to find some time this weekend to knock the dust off of it and take some outdoor pictures of it in the sun.:wave:
 
Those white wheels look completely awesome on that jeep! The red and tan combo looks excellent.....good and rare just like I like. Congrats on all your hard work man!
