Made it to Baton Rouge no charging system problems. Steering feels maybe one hair a bit loose but probably me being tired. Checked all bearings again yesterday and was good. Everything else fine.

Will top off with gas in the morning and check MPG. Just kicked/smelled all four wheels, all seems good :fingerscrossed:

Made it to Dalhart, TX last night (northwest of Amarillo).

Scrambler is running and driving great, alternator is alternating :fingerscrossed:

It was around 105 all the way from Shreveport, LA, and almost all the way to Witchita Falls, TX. Outside temps dropped once the sun started to set. Had one hot fuel hick up right before Dallas with less then a 1/4 tank of fuel left. Stopped for gas, had a pretty big whoosh when I removed the cap. Filled up with 89 octane, dropped speed down to around 70, RPM to around 2200, no other issues. Basically, just too damn hot outside. Engine temperature rock steady at 210, oil pressure around 60, alternator between 14-15 volts.

Will hit the road again soon :fingerscrossed::wave::thumbsup:

Made it to Colorado, did some wheeling, currently north of Champaign, IL, sleeping for the night. Should be at Silver Lake tomorrow, way too early!!!!

No issues with the Scrambler, except for the nut that holds the clutch pedal to the the down link fell off and landed on floor mat. That would explain the slight squeaking from the pedal on Saturday, and the increased pedal free play LOL. Put it back together at a truck pull off, no other issues.

That's it for now

Made it to Sandy Shores, MI, this afternoon. Going to borrow Toby's garage for some maintenance and inspection tomorrow before I hit the dunes. Looks like I have one rear wheel hub drive flange spitting some grease, no big deal, it sometimes takes a few tightening attempts before they seat.

That's it for now

Start: 59,431
Home: 64,855

Total = 5,424 miles, start from home, end at home

Changed the oil/rotated the tires at 63,166 when I first arrived in Michigan, thanks again Toby for letting me use your garage

Only two "issues":

1) The nut that holds the clutch pedal swing arm to the big under dash bracket fell off while in Kansas. In hind sight, the clutch felt like it had too much free pedal when I was leaving Colorado. This progressively got worse. I inspected the under hood/body linkage while at a gas station, it was all good. While crossing Kansas, I noticed a lock washer and nut on my floor mat. Pulled over, reinstalled the washer/nut, problem solved. When I got to Michigan I added a lock nut, problem permanently solved.

2) Passenger side rear wheel had some "spray" on the outer side, inside dry. Not gear oil or grease, 90% sure of that. Pulled wheel off, axle tube end dry, hub flange dry. No idea, I thought dog "P" because it was not really a "spray art" pattern like you get with a bad hub seal. I cleaned the wheel off when I first got to Michigan, no repeat UNTIL I got home. It was dry all through Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I first noticed this at my last gas stop in Alabama, south of Montgomery. I had just driven through some monsoons, so who knows. Cleaned it up yesterday, will monitor for now.

It was great seeing old friends again, and meeting new ones

I will post up the few pictures I took in the next few days. Another 'adventure" successfully completed :woot:

People bitch about Kansas, and maybe because it was new to me, but not a terrible 450 mile state to cross. The sign says "Jeep Road":

Oil change, tire rotation, wheel bearing inspection, general service inside Mr. Beep's garage, thanks again!!!!!!!!!!

20220729_120527_HDR.jpg

Rear Passenger wheel had spray art on the outside of the wheel, never could find the source.

Brown gunk behind red cap is aviation sealant, no oil/grease leaks:

20220729_124944.jpg

The wheel was not cleaned before I left home, the fingerprints in the bottom of the wheel were still there, no oil or grease here, either:

Some junk in the center cap, no idea:
