Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

Yeah. I know about InBev. They ruined my local Dominion as well.

Sold our house in less then two days and just signed a contract on a new house today. Closing date is May 24th...6 days after our due date for our daughter!!

Celebrating with a very nice brew from Kona Brewing Co. (http://konabrewingco.com/) called Big Wave Golden Ale. Great beer that really would be best enjoyed on the beach but isn't bad anywhere!

I'm leaving for a week in Maui this evening---I'll have a few remembering this post, and drinking it in the described location.

After spending Friday night changing the crapper in our new house (i.e. someone else's) I treated myself to a Shipyard XXXX IPA bomber. I was hoping to find an Allagash Black but settled for the Shipyard. Pretty strong, should wash away the filth.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366424993.194267.jpg

Tanking up before going out to tackle the rear main seal, oil pump and oil pressure sender on the LJ after hearing a rather nasty noise from the bottom end of the engine. :banghead:

Hop Bomber from Rivertown Brewing in Lockland OH. Very nice beer.

I dont usually find something I dont like...but stay away from Sam Adams Maple Pecan Porter. Gross. I dont care for Sam Adams as a whole any way, but it was a pick six and I needed one more, should have got a second Longboard Ale.

:bacon:

I like a lot if the Sam Adams brews, but I agree with you on the maple. A bit sweet fir me.

InBev is ruining beer worldwide by buying out small family brands, cutting workers, cutting corners and swapping out recipes for cheaper ingredients.

:angry::angry::angry:

CASE IN POINT

Unbelievable! There are no words for how low this is.

Budweiser’s New Pitch: Less Beer, Pay More

Excerpt:
"The new cans will be sold in 8-packs rather than the standard 6-pack; this will make it more difficult for shoppers to make quick apples-to-apples price comparisons in stores. The new can will also be made of nearly double the amount of aluminum as the usual can, so that it will feel a little heavier in one’s hand. Yes, in a tricky bit of packaging ingenuity, the can with 11.3 ounces of beer won’t feel any lighter than the can holding 12 ounces of beer."

This is on the same level as a lot of the bacon and ring sausage producers. You have to check the bacon size now most have gone to 12oz bacon packages and 14oz ring sausages instead of 16oz. Horrible.

Wont somebody please think of the children???

I'm fine with offering smaller sizes, even if you don't lower the cost accordingly, but trying to increase the number per pack to throw people off and using a heavier can to fool people?

Today was crazy. Had the last portion of my lieutenant's promotional process on the fire department this morning, then had to schedule an inspection on the new house, look into insurance, sign loan papers, get the mower ready once the rain stops...and about a dozen other things. I feel like I've been going in all different directions at once! Came home and had this great beer from Grand Teton Brewing, Pursuit of Hoppiness. I thought it was fitting. Oh, and it is excellent!

I've been working outside all day in beautiful weather getting my house ready for the sale. Just popped the top on a Black Butte Porter from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, OR, one of my favorite beers!

Trying to top Josh's pic. Celebrating a new cat back install on the LJ with one of the beers I won off a coworker for the Ravens Super Bowl win.

Jumping Cow amber, River Trent Brewing, Ukiah, CA (deal was to find a case of beers I probably hadn't had from CA)

Very heavy on the malted barley. Nice change of pace from my preference for hoppy beers. Really like this.

NFL draft, new Quadratec catalog and a Macallan 12 with one ice cube. Not beer but a damn good night.
