Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

I always heard to shake a little salt on a draught pour with a large head to take the foam down.

Had an old timer at the restaurant I used to run shake some pepper in his glass before he would pour his champagne of beer in it so it always had head. Apparently at least for Miller, pepper in the glass before the pour would result in eternal head. It worked for him, I watched him and it worked. I never tried it on my Bud though. Salt????

Picked up the habit/taste for doing it from my great grandma. Matter of fact the whole family does it. One time I was traveling through JFK airport and stopped to have a draft. When I asked the bar wench for a salt shaker she said that her great grandma from Jamacia did the same thing! Just one of those quirky things people do. I've even got a few of my buddies to start doing it.

In college we would wipe our finger on our face to get the oil and then put our finger in the head. It would die quickly.

Now I just try to do a better job pouring it.

Stocked back up on beer rations today. The goose island 12 pack was on sale for 14.00 which is the only reason I got it. Their IPA is just average IMHO. And ill make one of my helper friends drink the brown ale

Went to Destihl, a local (kinda local, restaurant is 35 minutes/main brewery like an hour-ish) gastrobrew-pub tonight with my lovely wife and ate some amazing dinner and had some good brew! I picked up a growler of their double IPA Hoperation Overload... one of my favorites.

Also had a cask aged Belgian style double ale with simcoe and amarillo hops.... But I didn't snag a picture of it. Really nice layers of flavor though.

Enjoying another Lefthand Milk Stout during a beautiful day at Breckenridge

This makes me so jealous. You have no idea how much I miss skiing on days just like that. It's been 3 years now and I have new skis that haven't even touched snow yet! :banghead:

That's what kids do... I haven't played golf in 3-4 years, barely have time to work on the Jeep and all my free time is currently taken up with princess related items... all worth it, just no time for the old time fun activities I used to do.

Had a couple more of these... they are growing on me... the killer cold temps really make them quite tasty!

Jeeps did that to me. I was a 20+ year in a row skier and I can be in the Pocono mountains in 45 minutes with my skis on ...but I haven't been in about 4 to 5 years I do miss it.

Back on topic though I found a great sale, both of these averaged out to be 7.25 a six pack plus tax or 7.50 here in New Jersey.

Nice....

Had dinner and drinks at Dogfish Head Alehouse tonight. Started with the Burton Baton, then the Brown Ale, then the Shelter Pale Ale. And then finished my wife's 60 Minute IPA. Carol is driving he now. Woot.
