Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

It ended up being very light. No one real over powering flavor. The maple was subtle as was the bourbon presence compared to a normal bourbon barrel. Founders sells maple syrup that has been aged in bourbon barrels and this ale was then aged in those after the syrup. My wife even had a few sips and enjoyed it and she normally hates Bourbon barreled beers,

I can't believe it! Our local tap house just got in some Dragon's Milk Reserve! Time to fill a Growler...

Yes- they actually have a beer app- gotta love it!

The Beer app is called "Digital Pour". Looks like there's quite a few places nationwide that are online!

The king of beer apps is Untappd. Crap tons of bars/breweries/restaurants on it and you rate beers and connect with friends. Let's you know what places have on tap just like that.

I just saw that Founders here in MI is starting distribution in the NW, I think OR is part of that.

Not a full on beer per se, but this little number caught my attention at the store a few minutes ago. Hard apple cider and Stout. Ciders aren't usually my thing but this is quite tasty. Has the malty chocolate from the stout and the sweet yet bitter from the cider. 7/10 IMAG0819.jpg

And it's even a local brewery that uses locally sourced products as much as feasible!

Awesome!

Wife started out with a Short's Locals Light. Tastes like a standard light lager with a more body. Not horrible, lagers are not my fave.

Also went to a craft brew Expo last weekend, 50ish breweries, each with atleast 3 beers, needless to say in the 4hrs I tried to get one of each, but was not successful. Think I hit about 85% though, had some really great beers and a couple no so muches. 1485046599550-204412741.jpg

It is a dessert beer for sure, a sipper if you will. Took over an hour to drink it.

Dragons Milk Reserve Raspberry Lemon. Yum. Complex with just a hint of the raspberry and lemon. I was a bit concerned about the raspberry/lemon being overpowering, but it's perfect.

5th Anniversary celebration for local brewery White Flame. Super tasty Black Flame, a maple bourbon barreled stout. They only brew it once a year for their anniversary.
