Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

I hear you on the gout. I am ok usually once a week on a Sat for a couple beers but need to watch the intake.

Had this one at a bar before going into a Nationals baseball game on Wednesday. I was thinking about you and your Jeep BW

I have a photo recreating this with Mater while I hold up a can in front of the camera. Founders sent me stickers for posting it on their wall and tagging them.

Nice beer too!

This is my new favorite summer beer that will be coming with me to the sand dunes. Just about perfect for my taste, hoppy and crisp but totally drinkable. Only issue is it’s not cheap.

Filled a couple of growlers yesterday at Old Ox brewery here in Ashburn.

Super delicious dessert beer shared tonight.

We we're out visiting friends and fellow beer lovers in the Chicago area and came back with some delicious local brews.

Clown Shoes and Ninja vs Unicorn were really awesome double ipas.

Rogue completely $&£€*% up the one beer I waited for and bought every single year. It had become as much a part of our family gatherings as the Christmas tree and my homemade egg nog.

Santa’s Private Reserve ale. I brought it to family Christmas, to holiday parties, had it at home... and I had to pour out this year’s first bottle and I don’t know what I’ll do with the others

Note the “Belgian style dark ale with tangerines and boysenberries” I never even looked at the label, when you go to buy Coke, you wouldn’t expect something like that and I never did here

I try to keep one of last year’s bottles to compare with the next version because they’re always SUBTLY different, and we went to do that again tonight. Utterly gutted at how bad this is. Kate couldn’t drink it either and we actually POURED IT OUT. Sickening.

Left is this year’s malted fruity bull$hit and the right is the traditional ale they’ve had for years. It was an Amber with hints of juniper or spruce that was my absolute favorite winter beer

I’m so bummed. It’s like losing a tradition.

Sorry to hear man. Havent dumped a beer in quite awhile.

Local market/tavern had there 4th anniversary today with a crazy display of open taps and half hour tappings. Available in a 5oz or pint, howler, growler, or crowler.

Prarire double dunk oreo
Planked coconut porter rum barrled
Odd Sides Sweet Potato Soufflé
Witches Hat Nibs night fury BBA
Shorts Carrot Cake BBA
Ellison Force of Gravity BBA

Heck of an afternoon

These are 5oz’ers or they would have had to pour me home.

They also had a bar in Holland Mi today that had Founders tap take over with 29 different handles of just Founders. Crazy!

[bigwalton]

My head would have exploded at the Founders takeover.

That would be very sad. I'd contact the company. At least let them know how you feel. They might go back to the old recipe next year if sales are down and complaints are up.

I actually posted my photos and a video of pouring it out on their FB page. I thought the video might be over the top, but I kept it all very constructive and started by saying how much I love their brewery and most of their beers. I also pointed out that I'm not saying that it's bad because I don't like the beer, I'm well aware that there will be lots of people who do, it was all about changing up a well-established label that drastically when you've been rather subtle with changing it year-over-year.

They had a recent post promoting Santa's and a few people posted how they either liked it or were excited about it, so I took my chances by putting it on there.

They not only left it up, they asked about my beer taste preference and said that they'd share the feedback with the brewers. Another friend of mine commented as well and they replied to him, I replied again and they replied there too. I always felt like Rogue was interested in feedback from their customers, so I was happy at how they handled it.

Excellent.
