Build Thread "Index" - Read the rules!!

I had a thought today looking at a long-term build thread on here that we need an "index" of sorts for new folks who come to the site looking to find build ideas/similar builds/specific options/etc.

Obviously, the first thing to point out is the "search this forum" button that's to the right just above the first thread in any forum listing:

attachment.php

This way you can limit the search to only the build forum.

Even then though, it seems that there's going to be folks who might have trouble finding what they're looking for and that's not a good way to quickly review all of the different build threads on the whole (some of which may not be named/titled well for easy reference)

So my thought is this, anyone with a build thread in this section make one post in this Index thread with the basics on your build, the year, etc. for quick scanning and include a link to your build.

Your post should look like mine below and we DO NOT WANT COMMENTS in this thread. This is for information only, no commentary. Otherwise there's really no point as I see it. The thought is that you could update your index thread post as you continue your build over time.

If you think I've missed something important in my list, PM me to keep it off the thread and I can edit. I could make this a moderated thread to keep miscellaneous posts off of it, but I'd like to just ask everyone to try to play along. I'm sticking this thread as the first in the forum for easy reference.

If no one does it, then I'll trash the thread and once again one of my ideas won't have panned out :) It's ok, I'm used to it.

Completely rebuilt from the ground up to be a reliable, nice looking Scrambler. Built for trail driving, street driving, and highway driving. Not an "extreme" rig, but a Jeep built to drive to the trail, have fun, and then make it back home. Built as a "driver", not a "show" jeep.

83 Scrambler

Most info unknown at this point as it depends on what of the parts I have is good!

starting point is 83 Scrambler (cause what I have title & some parts for!)
target:
258
SR5
Dana 300 (might end up Dana 20 depends on which one is good & fits!)
target tire size is 31s no lift.
Dana 30 & Dana 20 axles but not sure about gearing. I have 2 sets now & picking up a 3rd CJ7 tomorrow with another set of axles but has a recently running motor.
Not sure about color but leaning toward white
But am collecting stainless steel parts for a bling machine!
Building this one to sell & for fun & practice

Cold and lonely
ColdandLonely-1.jpg

Not intended to be a show truck or a true restoration nor a hard core heavy duty rock machine, but a preservation of the original (and slightly retro) look of the Scrambler while making it a basic, reliable, but capable driver that can hit the trails but does what we bought it for: take my wife for Home Depot Nursery runs (it's actually HER Jeep)
