Got a great deal on some used BFG MT KM3 33x10.50R15 and mounted on stock white wheels... need to finish welding floors and install drive train to see how tires ride

Slate blue is a great color. I’m slowly preserving a rustic slate blue 82 Scrambler

Thanks to @AdamH going to V-8 Project Caroline is getting a new, old engine. Engine is same year as Caroline... it will be nice upgrade from the empty engine bay that once had 4 cylinder from the factory.

All new seals, timing chain, water pump, etc and a little patina paint coming...

How many coats did you use on the firewall to get a close match? I have some of that paint but it seems more silver than blue after three coats. Looks good from an angle but not straight on

This was 3 coats out of the can with no clear on top

Three light coats of color and same on clear...

Look at last firewall and see middle top is old paint, it’s a touch darker from age I think, the outside a little lighter...

The primer under the color might help, looks like you used the white cards that came with paint, a darker primer may give it older look... try a hinge or even just bolt

Engine freshen up and ready to go in... did not want it to look new so did not spray paint but brushed and wiped to add color but keep the patina theme for the project

Pressure wash, degreased and rust converter applied... tomorrow more sanding and paint

Frame Rattle Can Overhaul and ready for new suspension/engine... will require a few Touchup’s when suspension is swap.

That rattle can did a good job. The right rear body mount might need some help. I had large flat washers welded in where the holes were rusted out of shape.

Thanks, it all in prep as they say... It’s little pits, seems solid... shadow in photo makes it look worse...
