Current Scrambler pics

Okay, this isn’t actually a Scrambler, but call this 1970 Jeepster a predecessor - even if less so than the CJ6. Has the cab top and a short bed, like a Scrambler. Just delivered last week for my wife’s Christmas present. Installing factory bumpers and CJ slot aluminum mag wheels.

Did you ever post more pics of this beauty? That Jeepster is awesome but it sure needed proper wheels and bumpers. How did it turn out?

Came back to my work office from lunch and this was in the parking lot at the building next to us.

I went into the first floor business but nobody knew whose it was. There are 8+ businesses in that building.

I'm kicking myself that I didn't leave a note for the owner.

Besides me, this is only the third Scrambler I've seen in the County.

My son came home from college for summer, a couple of weeks ago. He parked his JK, and has been driving the scrambler ever since. As I was walking past, I thought the old jeep next to the newer was worth a snap shot.

I run 33's and 4.10 with stock 4.0/AX15. I run 70-75 at 25/2700 RPM. This is where the 4.0 is happy. My stock 05 Rubicon with 31's and 4.10's loved 3,000 RPM at 78 mph. Sold it with 165k miles on it, never used oil, no engine problems at all.

The 258 will run above 2500 rpm on highway but it is nowhere near as happy. 258 torque curve much lower than 4.0.

You really want a 4.0 above 2500 rpm at 65+ MPH.
Good info.
Mine is pushing 2800+ rpm if I go over 70.
It has more in it but I'm trying to resist pushing it for now. It definitely struggles in the mtns... not pushing it at least.
It has a mild RV cam, holley sniper & is bored out. This was with the doors & 1/2 top on.
Pic for reference:
Average smpg now is around 13, I'm hoping that go up a tad. Engine is basically new.

GreatCJ8, thanks for the laugh. I sent the wife your picture of the comparison between the cow and the Jeep in the wind tunnel and she just busted out laughing. Lol. Good stuff

Just got back from brake booster/master cylinder land. With this weather it's time for the going topless before and after shots. Cleaning up wheels and tires and then the Ken Adams flag proudly goes on for the season. Yes I will be using the Coca-Cola method Lol.
