Dads Scrambler

Got the body painted today, hopefully i'll get it off the rotisserie in the next couple of days and mounted on the frame so i can get it out of my uncles shop.
I installed the novak Gen III LS mounts the other day and found the driver side to be not quite right. After a phone call to Novak I have an new mount on the way. Turns out they had a bad batch that ran through. They thought they had got everyone that was affected but it turns i got missed. After looking at the mount it appears someone put the driver mount in the passenger mount jig and welded it up.

looks very good, looks like the tires grew a bit larger from the first pic? lol

Mounted the body on the chassis today so I could get it out of my uncle way in his shop. I was hoping to have the engine mounted but still waiting on the driver engine mount to come in.

Dad is loving this color., but I'm not sure how he is going to get in this thing. The door opening is about two inches below my belt line and I'm a lot taller, thinner than him [emoji39]

Looking great! Don't worry about Dad getting in there...us "old guys" can work it out.

Is there a tilt column in there? That helps us "big guys" quite a bit so you can get in/out a lot easier.
Some side steps could help too.

Thanks for the reply's.

Yes I have a tilt column for him and as far as side steps go we have some custom built heavy duty rockers with tubes built in that I got from a member here on the forum. That probably the next thing I need to start trying to figure out. From a glance it looks like I will need to cut the new 1" daystar body mounts and sandwich the rocker in between the body mounts.

Does anyone have pic's of how they have done this with rockers that come under the body all the way back to the body mounts???

no pic but the ones on the orange scrambler had to be cut down a little for that one i had on it . I used a belt sander

Some progress today.

Didn't go all the way flat, but close. Still need to make a trans mount.

This is going to be fun![emoji41]

This is a mount I made for my conversion. I hope it works.

Dennis,
I looked at your mounts in you build thread, it looks sweet! I will probably do something similar, still not sure thought, need to take some time to think about it all the way through.

Yea there are so many ways to go. I hope I don't regret not using the Atlas TC.
