Door Hinge Mystery

I don't have a mill, and the drill press won't do it since the hole is not a "complete circle" (there is a gap in the metal, it does not complete close around the hinge pin).

But does anyone know if an OEM hinge is of the larger diameter (7/16")?

I just did this same exact thing! Mine are absolutely without a doubt 1984 factory hinges. Pins fit bushings, but pins also fit hinge holes fairly well. I was just hoping the bushings would take the slightest slop out that causes a little door sag.

If you try this, WELD the lower hinge slot closed FIRST. @Jeeperdd taught me that little trick
