There is a guy in NJ selling nice looking XJ's on ebay. EVERY one no matter what color his description says "best color combo". Really idiot, that is a matter of opinion unless you are trying to hide your Jeep in a snow storm or the likes

Yikes...beware any item that is still dripping wet for the pictures...dripping wet can look way different than dry and in the sun.

He has a lot of other parts listed for other high numbers, I just thought this one stuck out the most as each seat is about 900 bucks a piece give or take... made my eyes pop.

That is a sales tactic I'm seeing used more and more on ebay especially for rare or high-end items. Seller lists items with extremely high price or reserve and includes contact info. Interested parties contact seller outside of eBay to make a deal and avoid eBay fees. Auction ends with either no buyers or never reaching reserve price so only cost of listing is incurred. Basicly using eBay to advertise. I see it a lot with vehicles.

Just FYI, that seller is a member here (redhoncho).

EBay is a huge corporate, online sales bully. I've been buying/selling on there since 2000. It used to be a place that helped buyers and sellers find each other and was a treasure trove of good deals and charged reasonable fees. Not to mention the feedback system was straight forward. It is nothing like that now. I very rarely buy or sell on there anymore.

Yeah it is. The fees have gotten outrageous, and the sellers have no rights anymore at all.

I used to sell a lot on Ebay. The last thing I sold was an old trailer plug style (early 8274) Warn remote. I listed it "as is, no returns" It worked fine, but that was pretty much my standard auction wording.

Seller said it didn't work. I ate $30 shipping it to him, and paying for return shipping. It worked fine. Obviously he decided he didn't want it, or more likely found one cheaper elsewhere.

Haven't sold anything there since, and will not.

FB trading sites will eventually kill off ebay.

I got really lucky on EBay last week. Those NOS 1966 Alofs seat belts ended up selling for $500.00!!! Wish I could do that more often. However, impulse got a hold of me and I used my windfall to buy a 45-70 Guide Gun...

I wish there was more swap meets for jeep stuff near me so im kinda stuck selling on ebay. I dont mind the fees. As long as stuff sells for a profit. Or if im sick of seeing somthing ill let it go for whatever.
