Got the power steering pump and the clutch fan installed this afternoon. The serpentine belt that I got is too small. Not sure if I ordered the wrong one or they sent the wrong one. Will go to the local parts place and get a new one and compare sizes this time. And use my son’s employee discount.

Tomorrow I am going to remove the radiator from the grill and mock up the transmission cooler mounting. I don’t want to use the little zip tie things. So we will see what I can come up with.

Oh, I also installed my replacement starter and bashed up oil filter. Like it never happened. 😜

Got the correct serpentine belt and installed it, then mounted the trans cooler. I was not planning on using the zip tie things to hold it against the radiator, but oh well, laziness prevailed today. It looks like it will work. Now the grill is “permanently” back on (hopefully).

Oh and when I was removing the radiator, I noticed that the power wire for one of the turn signal broke from the plug. I attempted a fix, but the part of thr blade that wraps around the wire was fragile and broke rather than bend. Oh well. Another part to buy.

While I am researching crossmembers, I might as well ask what others have chosen for engine skids for the 4.0. This oil pan is not as thick as the one I had on the 4.2 and is lacking that little extra protection welded to it. So I am thinking I will need to get a skid for it.

I like the Metalcloak/Teraflex style. I put one on my TJ after I dented my pan at Rausch Creek. I bought a similar one for the motor I have in the Scram from a guy on ebay, but he's not making them any longer. You try to avoid a situation where you need that protection but it does happen.

Thanks. I will look up that style.

Since it is raining and I don’t want to lay under it in the driveway working on the fuel line today, I decided to tackle the auto shifter cover. I had to remove the auxiliary fuel and temp gauges, but it will be easy to find a new home for them. I also trimmed a little at the front and cut a hole for the shifter cable to go through, but I think it looks a little more “finished” now.

So I wanted to do something productive today. So I swapped my 33s for the 35s I picked up a while ago. Gets them off of my back porch. But now I have the 33s in my garage. Sigh

Anyway, it does not look like a lot was gained going to the 35s but I have a pic of the jack that was supporting the transfer case (was there for moral support really). So I guess the 35s do raise it up some. The chrome wheels are the 33s.

Let’s see, what did I do today, NOT THE FUEL LINES. Instead I added the radiator hoses, the new to me evap canister, and reran the wiring for the lights and put the headlights back on. I am still waiting on parts, but should be able to tackle the fuel line stuff tomorrow.

Mounted the e2000 fuel pump and Jeep ZJ regulator/filter.

And before anyone says “the pump is supposed to be lower than the tank”, I appreciate your thoights. I don’t want it on the frame rail where it will get hit when rock crawling. I had the pump here when I tan the sniper and had zero issues. I know others who have it here as well. It is tucked up where it won’t get crushed by rocks and is accessible.
