Wow, after all these years I finally graduated.
I just received my degree in elementary education and now I an K-6 certified.

I also have my full size axles going under the postal and the Atlas II on order.
I cant believe that things "seem" to be going great and in a forward direction. So I am so EXCITED to say the least. I will upload some photos as soon as I can get then here. I live off-grid and only have internet in town so I don't get to chat much..

If I can find a teaching job in the western states I might even be able to participate more often and go to a scramble. I will, in the future, be able to go when the postal is done because I will have summers off. :p

I would like to thank all the people here that I have chatted and dealt with over the years. I am not on here all the time, just between classes and other demands but I hope to participate more often as time allows. However, this is the most informative and pleasant web-board to chat on and the people have always been great!

Just wanted to take the time out to say a big THANKS to you all...

Now I will go away...;) LOL

Don't go away....

Big congrats on the degree. That's what one of my sons is working on. He's 2 years in, on a 5 year program, that he'll probably take 7 years to complete  .

Dean,

congrat buddy...that has got to be a relief to be done.

Huge props to anyone who takes up teaching as a profession. Much more thankless than it should be, I'd put it up there in the league of police, military, firemen and so on. Big congrats on the degree!

Can't wait to see those pics of the postal and to hear that you drove it around Talkeetna. Will it be running to participate in the Moose Dropping festival parade??? :D

Thanks

Thanks for stepping up and being a teacher.

Great job and good luck.

Congratulations!!

Both of my parents are retired teachers so I know the dedication and hard work it takes. It's a job that you have to love. I have the utmost respect for the underappreciated profession of being a teacher. Best of luck!!

pete.

I'm one of the people you have "dealt with and chatted with" over the years, and I'd like to thank you for the deal you gave me on the d300 and adapter, and congratulate you on your recent success!

Thanks guys, and gals...,
It has been a long and tough road to get here. I was in a combined 5/6th grade classroom all year and it was tough but exciting. My degree was suppose to be a 4 year program running about 19 credits a semester. However, with working and the family it turned into 6 years.

bigwalton, I won't be in the moose dropping for this year but it will be ready for next year. But then it will be a little out of place in Talkeetna. :D

Here is a photo of me and the other "teachers" in my program...I'm the ugly one.:D

Congrats

Congrats man. I just finished my el ed degree in December (k-5). I also finished a Math Degree (6-8) and a masters in Education so I know the relief of being finished (even though I am still finishing a minor in social studies for additional certifications).Graduated again at 38, feels great.

I do want to wish you the best of luck finding a job. Here in Michigan its pretty bleak. Thanks to our state schools flooding the market with wanna-be teachers and people leaving the state in droves due to a miserable economy, we have close to 1000 applicants for every position.

Colorado on the other hand is BEGGING for teachers. Maybe thats a good option for you if you're mobile. I would go in a heartbeat but my wife (also a teacher) is 12 years in and in a very good spot.

I wish you the best.

There's one family coming in at least!! So you're saying that I won't have to worry about massive school overcrowding like they have down here??? ;)

Congrats on your degrees too and good luck in the search.

Teeeechars roool! :D

Congrats! I'm sure your memories of Talkeetna will be fond ones.

I've been to Talkeetna and that little town made a life-long lasting impression on me. The outhouse in the town square was the most vile smelling outhouse I've ever had the misfortune to visit. Seriously, would it kill the parks & recreation department's budget to buy some lye or Little Trees pine air fresheners? :p
