Ive made an offer on a scrambler off market I really dont know alot about.
The owner passed and it is to be sold and split among the 5 kids.
I don't know if it runs
Just some photos
I've only seen one other Laredo original paint this nice and I already own it but my dad bought it for 6k in 2008 so i don't know what the prices are at but my offer is a lot more generous.
What do you guys think the market value of this could be if I got it running and driving great and I have all the parts to bring it back to factory. (Radio, console, front bumper, frame cover, side rails, ect.)

Hard to place a value on it without a hands on look, but these 2 items significantly increase the value.

If the body and frame are rust free, and drivetrain in good shape, $15,000ish is a great starting point.

My untrained eye sees 8” chrome wheels
I don’t think 8” chrome wheels were ever available on a scrambler, so if they are they must be older wheels added by a PO.

Ya the rear bumper is a big deal to me I have some extra sets of plastic endcaps but none of my bumpers are perfect. I also have an extra set of rocker moldings.

Yes, they were, 1981 only. I have the original set of 5 that were on mine when I bought it. Chrome with center caps.

Wow, I am totally wrong, I thought they were a ‘79 and earlier rim. Good to know.

So, that would make this an ‘81 SL since it does not have the hockey stick graphics?

One thing im worried about is on the drivers fender the bottom sticker is missing for some reason... could it have came from the factory like this or has it been peeled off?

If there is no body rot in that area, I bet it peeled off or started to ans someone removed it.

Update: I’m going to pick it up this weekend.
Running and driving decent.
The father bought it new 1 owner
5 speed
Only known issue is drivers windshield wipers not working.
Garage kept.
Awesome. Congrats. Wiper is an easy fix.
