It's time to start making some changes.....

I found mine used so I'm not sure. They were used in a sand buggy before information got them.

Not yet...... I got "squirreled" by deciding to build a miniature Jeep for my boys. I however am accumulating parts like the cable shifters, Racepak, etc..

And that build thread is where now???

Oh yea, I have the rod ends to link up the rear of the Scrambler too. Hopefully I'll start on that when it cools down.

Yea....you got me cranked up to build one for my boys. I was trying to get the one listed in Denver but he would not budge on the price. I ended up finding this one down in Tucson so it was much closers to me and looked better too. So thanks to you, you cost me probably $3k and a LOT of Saturdays. ;) So does anybody have an ATV motor that is 2wd, shaft drive, reverse, and is complete? I'm looking for a wrecked atv at the insurance salvage auctions but I have not found any yet. Unfortunately I can not build the frame until I get a motor first. :( My master plan is to have it done so one of my boys can take it into the 4th of July parade so I really need to get rolling on this-

See if you can find a Honda Lawn tractor. 2 cylinder, water cooled with a hydrostatic transmission. The 14 and 18 hp models would work well.

It would be cool if you could get a diesel subcut Kubota motor to work. Something like an 1850. Probably would be the only diesel mini Jeep in existence :woohoo:

I've thought about that but I know enough about those to be dangerous unfortunately. I also have thought about going all electric because the motors and batteries now really work good but the same case as the hydrostatic stuff I just don't know enough to make good decisions the first go around.

You're moving?? ;)

No doubt- It's 109 with high humidity right now. By 8:30am, I'm soaked to the bone already......In about another month the humidity will go away and it'll be alright.......So for now I'll just collect parts.....

One piece at a time it keeps getting closer to being done for moab. I got the seats for the two boys done today. The cup holders are mounted and just one grab handle for each of them for now. If they were down at the shop today they may have got the center handles. Those I'll have to be creative to fit two handles in there without hitting their knees. Maybe sometime later. Off to start on something else on this long list. It's crazy how much time all of this stuff takes....... View attachment 40721

If you come across any measurements or plans for these, I'd pay for them. Or, if you plan on building another I'd pay for that!

How did you mount them to the floor???

The kids seat frame in the back is bolted to the floor. Until I get the dashboard done, I can't build a new cage to mount all of the seats off of. I definitely don't plan on building another like this though. Like everything else that I do it's take some measurements, lay things out to get a rough idea, then start cutting and welding. It will not help you now but I'd imagine that I'll have to put a bench seat in the back of mine in about two years for my boys and this set-up will go up for sale then.

HHmmm...Actually that might work fine. Lukas is almost 5 and 40lbs. He is in a car seat at the moment that has the rear seat lap belt through the back and the down-strap off the top of the seat fastened to the floor through a loop I added to the center seat belt mount point. What weight / size / age do you see them growing out of those seats?

Since my October Moab trip got cancelled, we are trying to plan on going for EJS. It's now on the radar to get this thing linked up before then. So today I spread out all of my brackets and joints to make sure that I have everything that I need some information can whip it out in a weekend.

Measurements are taken now and put into the 4 link calculator. So now between Christmas and New year it's time to do some cutting and welding.
