I can finish your sentence for you.

...if you had an unlimited budget, wouldn't you go out and buy a tub, frame, axles, engine, or whatever else you could imagine? Why scrounge in junkyards or make do with used when you can just buy the best?
There just doesn't seem to be 190k worth of vehicle in any Jeep! You can't physically cram it in there...they are too basic. That is where I have trouble with the price.

I fall into this category - but with a limited budget. I did basically ^that^ - bought lots of new stuff, a crate motor (just a 5.7 though), etc. So, I absolutely have no problem with this type of build. It's just the damn price - $175,000-200,000 is just insane, because they did exactly and ONLY that - just assembled a Jeep(like truck). They didn't "build" a Jeep.
It's worth noting, that we're apparently not alone in our thoughts on these - it looks like they've created 1 Legacy Scrambler. That green one is shown under all three version - with and without the sticker pack.
Playing the "I won the lottery game", I'd have to go with an Icon and use the left over $75,000 to explore the hemisphere...

If I were a rich man randy , i'd buy a jeep from you!!
I thought I read on their website that 1000 man hours went into each build. Most repair shops charge $100 per hour, with paint going for more. I only charge around half of that, but shops that have actual storefronts in my area that do custom work charge $150ish. My paint guy has no problem getting 10k plus for a custom metallic job. If that's the case, labor eats a huge chunk of the price. I don't even want to think about the hours that have already gone into my Scrambler build, and I'm not even done! I'll have a quarter million dollar Scrambler when I'm done!

Glad they built a tribute Scrambler and all...
But I don't think attention to detail is there.
Besides all the china crap......How about a CJ automatic brake pedal !
