Minion mobile - '01 XJ

Starting my own thread to document the fly-n-drive to Oregon to pick up this XJ from @Randyzzz. I'd been after him since he first found this thing to sell it to me and he finally gave me the chance. We have sold off our TJ to replace it with this as it's much, much more useful for our family and both the kid and the wife are thrilled. The color really made it

Crazy excited to get this, I head out pre-dawn Thursday to spend the day getting ready and hanging out with Randy and Carol and I'll start back early Friday. I'll document the trip here. Weather looks like it's going to cooperate

Got to say, road trip buy-and drive threads are perhaps my favorite ones to keep track of on here. Thanks for documenting for all of us who have never done one. It's on my bucket list.

Mid morning update. Started before 5 to stay on eastern time and get going. Randy and Carol were so much fun to finally meet.

Headed through nothingness but was greeted with an amazing sunrise and just crossed a pass east of Haney, OR and had to stop to take photos. It’s glorious.

Not as picturesque, made it into Idaho and about halfway to Wyoming. Got to eat at a Carl’s Jr., which I dig on hard and found a cool old one lane iron bridge.
