Moving to Ann Arbor, MI...

l... there's nothing that needs doing in a brand new house, right?
Not at all!!!  Just don't tell Kate. Wives tend to find things to do where they didn't exist.:p

I recently found out new houses don't have mail boxes, towel racks, window treatments, landscaping, etc., etc. :banghead: Good Luck.

It does need a mailbox, has towel racks, and no amount of landscaping would have been enough.

Luckily () for me, we're moving in in the middle of winter, so landscaping is a few months away at least.

I own three Jeeps and nothing else. I'm not even remotely considering a snowblower... besides, we got a driveway that's just too darn long to want to bother (not insane, but longer than I care to deal with).

Pics of house and garage:

Garage is fully insulated and finished with at least 9' insulated doors (didn't have tape to measure) that seal well. They're much taller than any Jeep of mine will ever go :D

Very nice.

Gonna put a plow on one of the jeeps, then? Or Shovel?! :D

Nice find. Good luck with the move.

Very nice, Eric. Congrats. Your Jeeps will appreciate the cover this winter.
All that's missing are some oil stains for that nice clean garage floor.

Yeah, I always said I'd do that paint stuff on mine here and once the boxes and junk went in there was just no way. Anyone got a good hook up for some nice epoxy garage paint??? :)

Shovel schmovel. We can go in and out of the house from the garage, nothing needs shoveled

Just can't leave me in my blissful ignorance huh? :D

That thing is freaking sweet!

Nice place, Eric! You'll want to reconsider the snowblower...today's ruts turn into tomorrows ice mounds.

your new place looks great. Congratulations! A first oil spot on the new garage floor story is worthless without PICTURES!

It's begun.

Packed the Rubicon and started to MI at 6:30 Sunday morning. 14 hours, one blizzard in OH, and a closing later, she's unpacked and resting in her spot in the new garage.

That storm made things real interesting starting in SW VA with what I call a "one lane" wind, where you could find yourself one lane over before you knew it. There was rain and snow through WV, but nothing bad. But as soon as I hit Akron, it all went down the toilet.

The last 10 miles of I-77 before the Ohio Turnpike took about an hour. Something nasty happened with a tractor trailer that was just getting hauled off when I got to it. Saw lots of sliding and stuck vehicles. Rubicon did great obviously :smokin:

The turnpike was pretty good, just about the speed limit, and then 23 N to Ann Arbor was a little slow until I got within about 15 minutes of I-94.

We had ~11" of snow at the house with some drifts about my waist deep (didn't get in those, but has to go through a couple over my knees to check various things).

Closed on the house yesterday and flew home last night with about an hour delay in Atlanta. Got in about 12:30 last night. With packing like mad on Sat before I left, it was a very long long weekend.

Tonight I have to finish packing the second POD and then we get the rental truck and trailer Wed for the final, permanent move on Friday. The fun never stops!

Good thing is that I get to drive the Scrambler this week because my DD is in MI. :D

Crusty salt pics, first ones in MI for any of our Jeeps:

We're here....

We're full-time in MI now. The move up was uneventful thanks to good weather and we made the trip back to Baltimore for Christmas without any problems.

Came back on Thurs afternoon and have unloaded both our PODs so we're now to unpacking boxes and arranging things in the house.

Pics to come...

Welcome! I was just in A2 tonight. We'll have to plan a Metro Detroit meet and greet soon. Can't wait to meet you in person.
