Moving to Ann Arbor, MI...

I'll get the pics up here before tomorrow night... there's a nice one of all of the Jeeps in the garage before it got completely filled with boxes.

A local meet and greet sounds perfect. Just need to get out of all the crap I'm dealing with around here long enough to make it!

I hope the boxes are leaving soon. :D

Not as much as I am... not even close :banghead:

I did make really solid progress today in getting rid of the pile of junk that's cluttering my garage into the house ;)

Pics of the new Jeep home

This pic just makes me smile. All of them settled in (before the boxes and crap took over). There's actually more room around and between them than I thought there would be.

This was the caravan from NC. I thought it was nice that the truck happened to match the JK, made for a nice looking setup

Yes, I'm so lazy that there's still NC mud on it... I wasn't thrilled with the coating of salty road slime from the truck.

Here's what welcomed us, the remains of 11" of snow from the previous weekend.

welcome home. we will have to do a midstate scrambler meet and greet this summer. we just need to get the body work done first...

Bah, body work... just drive it. Do like me and cover it in armor, out of sight, out of mind!

Otherwise, I'm all about meet and greets

Eric- that garage shot is, well, AWESOME! I'm jealous!

Nice house Eric, and the stable is very nice. looks to be fully insulated and sheetrocked. Enough room for the wife to keep a vehicle enclosed, and still plenty of space for vehicles in all states of dis-repair.

Glad to see you are getting settled into the new house. Love the garage shot as well. I can tell you have three jeeps but only one of which is a "true jeep".

It is insulated and drywalled, it's even got a wooden trim piece all around the lower edge of the walls. Doors are nice insulated ones and TALL :D I was out there late last night when it was in the 20s outside and the temp in the garage was ~46° (Door opener on the wall has an LCD thing with the temp displayed). I was comfortable without a coat and I thought "I can totally work in this!" ;)

At least all my Jeeps are of the CJ bloodline... no ZJs or what not

First wrenching in the garage!!!

Well, Kate thought I was nuts, but I went out to change the oil in her JK tonight and put the new tag on the Postal.

On the garage: I think the high today here was right around 30° and when I went out tonight, it was 20° outside. Our garage door opener has a clock and temperature readout, so I checked it and it was a nice 48°! I'm loving the insulated walls and doors right now and I'm going to forget about any heating. I was actually a little warm by the end of the work in a sweatshirt and jacket.

On the work: I have to say that, I know it's a minivan engine, but changing the oil and filter on that V-6 was the easiest and best-designed (I'll assume it was intentional on some designer's part, it makes it more impressive that way) setup I've ever worked on. I haven't exactly changed oil in hundreds of different vehicles, but this was BY FAR the best one ever. Simple 1/2" drain plug, nothing in the way, horizontal filter with easy access and most importantly, a nice protrusion right below the filter that sends the oil into the pan in a nice, even stream without splitting up and shooting off in different directions or flowing down the block or all over the axle, suspension or (the worst one ever) the exhaust. Also, it is easy to get to the oil fill, with a nice fit for a funnel and a nice, simple screw-on filler cap, no goofy clicking thing or difficult to remove plug.

I didn't even come close to getting oil anywhere. However, the LJ got the award for first oil spot. It's dripping slightly from somewhere and got oil on the concrete... forgot to check that dangit).

Anyway, it's been FOREVER since I did anything in a garage, so I just wanted to share.

New place, what are the rules? That's not an oil leak, the LJ is marking it's territory!:D
