My first Scrambler

The reason I ask about the top is I thought it looked like an AJ's (which had a latch on each side of rear hatch).

Not to derail the topic...but the difference is that an AJs top has a bump up right about where the roll bar is. Also, the ACME has scalloped rear corners...

$10750. It has a lot of upgrades and damn they are hard to find! Couldn't be happier with it. The future looks great!

The prices with these things vary so much but ultimately you get what you pay for. In the year I've been looking Ive seen between 5K and 20K+ on craigslist. That was looking at all the craigslist's within 500 mile of my home near Sacto. I'll tell you the one of the best things about this Jeep was that you could tell the previous owner cared about it. Kept all the receipts and put up a good ad not just "Scrambler for sale, call for info."

Anyways was more than what I originally wanted but I am very happy and would do it over again in a heart beat.

Rubicon

I see a few of you live near by me. I live in El Dorado, CA. 10 years ago I organized the first Rubicon Scramble. The 11th annual Scramble will be held the last weekend in June, 2009. I have the Dirty Dozen camp site reserved in the Springs.

This is a very informal event, more a gathering of friends. But all are welcome. I have a 84 Scrambler and we recently got my wife an 82 Scrambler. Both will be on the trail.

Let me know if you are interested.

Mike

mbrink,
Where in the county are you? I'm up in Pollock Pines.

This needs to be in the events section, as it's own thread. I'm sure some people here would be interested. I'd love to do this if I wasn't 3000 miles away...

Scramble

I am in the little town of El Dorado, in El Dorado County.

As I mentioned in the previous post, the Rubicon Scramble has gotten very informal. All are welcome, we just ask that you come with the buddy system and come prepared. Seems every year we had people join us that were way over their heads, afraid of a dent, and did not have as much as a pair of pliers with them, let alone the knowledge on how to use it. Made for a very long day on the trail.

That said, it is a fun event and I hope you can make it. Send me a PM with your info.

Mike
