Your not to far from me. Be sure to keep an eye on the "Midwest" section in our local scramblings section. Also keep in mind the 10th Annual National Scramble is in Harlan County Kentucky this year. We move all across the country, so this one would be easy to attend if you can work it out. Looks like it will be well attended this year! :wave:

Welcome! I have a friend stationed in the "Springs". Used my Scrambler in his wedding for the ride to the reception.
 
The CJ-6 was titled as a 1975. I sold it to someone that lived downtown Cincinatti, OH. He had never driven a stick before and almost got us killed when I was attempting to teach him how to operate it. Last I heard, about 10 years ago, he still had it. It had a 258 with a T-14 three speed, Power steering, drivers seat and 4.27 gears. It was a blast to drive. :wave:
 
Mine was 4.27 gears and originally had a 232 with the three speed and a manual steering setup.
11" Drum brakes all round and the footbrake which as its on the right hand side meant you had to take your foot off the brake to apply it.
In the pursuit of safety and a better drive only the 4.27 gear bit remains :D
 
Hey y'all. First post on here. I'm hoping to join the scrambler world some time in the next year. I'm planning on a serious trail rig/mild rock crawling build, so ill probably buy either one in bad shape or n aluminum tub. I don't want to hack up a good one. Either way its going on a truck frame. I used to have a 77 CJ-5 with the 304 on 33" Boggers. I'm wanting a scrambler because I miss my CJ, I want a built trail rig, but the CJ-5 had NO space. My daily driver is a 05 Dodge 3500 dually, flatbed, on 35's and a souped up Cummins, so I'm not used to having no room, lol.

Thank you! It will probably be 6 months or so until I can get started building, but I'm hoping to maybe go to some of the Jeep gtg's near me, and eventually the Easter Jeep Safari... a friend of mine works at Clemson 4Wheel Center, and the owner has the Ultimate Adventure Cummins JK now, so I could only hang out down there for so long before my CJ started to haunt me. My wife and I are looking forward to maybe hanging out in the Jeep crowd, we actually met from mutual friends in the Diesel community, but now Diesel's have became the!"cool" thing and it's really ruined the stuff around here. And I haven't been in the southeast regional section yet but I'm originally from Jackson County, GA, about 20 miles outside of Athens and now live in the Northwestern -nost county in SC, right near the SC/GA/NC border.

Your not to far from where the "SOA 10th Annual National" will be held. Look forward to possibly meeting you there. The will be quite a variety of Scramblers in attendance so you can get some good ideas of what you may want to end up with. :thumbsup: :wave:
 
New Scrambler owner

I recently picked up a 1983 Scrambler. I am looking forward to the restoration process, with exception of the Just Empty Every Pocket that will occur. My current daily driver is an 06 TJ Rubicon.

hey yall i am back in the cj game again just got an 85 again 454 turbo 400 dana300 60 in the rear 44 airlocked in front 4inch lift 1&1/2 shackles 35-12.50-18 procomps .my first scrambler was an 4.2 4 speed 4inch lift 31-13.50 mickeys along with my 5 that was 360 amc t150 4.11s 4inch +3inch body body on 36 inch super swampers
