I'd like to see pictures of thisWell, guess it's back to the bushes for me. I finally got a GOOD look at the "cj-8" I found and found out that it's really a cj-7 with part of a Nissan bed grafted onto a homemade half cab.
Spent a lot of time in central PA area, between Allentown and Harrisburg. Settled in Erie for far too long, 31 years.Welcome. What part of PA where you in? Post picture of whatvyou fot coming. Usually Jeeps get bought in the southwest and shipped to the northeast, you are doing it backwards.
Ok all you lurkers out there, it seems we've had a number of great posts and introductions from "lurkers" on here lately and it seems like it's time to try to draw more of these cool folks and great Scramblers out of the woodwork.
There's no reason to lurk on here, "the more the merrier" definitely applies, even if it's just to say "sweet rig" or throw out an idea. The cool part about forums like this is when people get to discussing things and sharing ideas/viewpoints/stories. You never know what could spark an idea for someone and help them get fromto
.
So come on out and post up--here, on your own introduction thread or just join in somewhere...![]()

As a returning member (from years ago) my CJ-8 is still around but has been mostly ignored because of too many reasons. This one and my CJ-7 are still in my ownership but I have been trying to free up some space in my garage to start a new project (taking the drivetrain out of the 7 and grafting it into the 8). Years ago I installed the Hesco fuel injection conversion into the 7. My old website (SierraJeep.com) showed how to do that. The 1981 CJ-8 has a wimpy 4 banger and I have little need for the 7 these days. So taking what I want from the 7 to upgrade the 8 is my plan.
Fortunately, while my old website is not on line (long story) I still have it on my computer to reference all the steps and hints. I decided to rejoin this website to get some ideas and tips.
