Been busy the past few days... Getting the new tires and new driveshaft, lit a fire under my butt.

(its dirt, not a pin hole...)

yesterday I set the pinion angle. I put the 2 rear tires in the back of the Jeep to simulate a full tank of fuel and tools to get some weight on the suspension. Tacked on the spring mounts and torque arm bracket, pulled out the axle and glued everything on. Then finished her off with a coat or two of semi-gloss black. Let it sit over night and threw it back in this morning. With no weight in the back of the Jeep the driveshaft is only off by 1 degree. I can live with that!! :D

Then today, I opened up the front lawn paint shop and threw a few coats of semi-gloss black on everything thats ready to install...

well wifey is going away this weekend, so if i get my a$$ modivated enough, and i dont run into any problems, Scrambler should be running by Sunday. Thats the plan anyways.

good thing is, wifey is going to her sisters place. Her husband works in the US and they live in Canada. I order all my stuff in the US and ship it to him. He brings it across the border and i pay him whatever i owe in duty/taxes. Its a sweet setup we have, saves me alot in shipping and border fees... anyways, wifey is heading over there and there is a crapload of stuff waiting for me.

poison spyder stuff
new shocks
brake lines
and some other misc stuff.

its gonns be like Christmas when she gets home!! :D:D:D

alrighty.... heres a good update.
IT RUNS!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

no pics in the update. now I have to finish some minor wiring, mount shocks (have to make shock mounts), bleed brakes, and take her for a drive!!! (theres more on the list, but this is the important stuff before she's driveable.)

heres a short update. been busy doing little things. non-picture worthy stuff, like wiring and re-doing stuff i wasnt happy with...

I've tried to order a copy custom license plates...
ASSDRAGR = rejected
A55DRAGR = also rejected...
gave in and ordered TAILDRGR. that one should be accepted.

fuel pump and filter mount. was going to mount 2 pumps, but want to get the Jeep going some time this summer. maybe do that in the winter.

rear axle brake lines...

DSC04036-1.jpg

winch bolted in place. not hooked up, need to be fixed too, cant get it to free spool. ideas??

DSC04038-1.jpg

Check engine light mounting bracket. When ever i decide to repaint the Jeep, I will be getting a custom dash made to house everything and make it stock looking. I used a rusted out dash, cut out this piece and bolted it on. (rotate the piece 180 degrees, thats where I got it out of the dash...) again cheap and easy...

DSC04035-1.jpg

got the front shock mounts done. kept it simple and went with Ford super duty shock towers p/n E5TZ-18183-A . Nice thing about these, they are beefy and cheap... bought 4, total bill was $89. they are $19 plus tax! :D:D Had to cut them up a bit to work how i wanted them too.

DSC04032-1.jpg

test mounted the shock... didnt go cheap on these. Bilstein 7100 series. gotta have some bling... dunno how i'm gonna mount the reservoir...

tomorrow, I tackle the rear shock mounts and possibly brakes.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As was said in the movie Young Dr. Frankinstine.

Lookin great! On the winch- make sure the lower lever is releasing, IIRC.

rolled it out of the garage yesterday (under her own power too!!!)
wiring done... brakes done... just a few more minor things.

powder coated aluminum Poison Spyder armor with the "cheap" repo emblems for that other thread...

gonna have to get the real camera out and take some nice pics. iphone pics just not cutting it...

she's plated and insured again!!!
wifey and I took her out of pizza and ice cream!
drove great! straight as an arrow, no un-Jeepish vibrations, smooth for a Jeep. Can actually let go of the steering wheel at 80kph and she'll drive straight!
First wheeling trip starting Thursday!!

I love my Jeep... :D:D

On the winch-I had an 8274 that froze up on me and I hooked it up to a tree, pulled the free spool knob and backed up slowly and it broke free. Worth a try.

What's the comment about mounting two fuel pumps? You just want a spare ready to go or are you actually plumbing in two?

On the reservoir mounts, why not leave them like you have them? The other place I see for them is on the side of the shock mount, but they look great like you did them.

I was/am planing on mounting 2 fuel pumps with a valve... so if/when one pump dies, i just flip the lever on the valve and flip a switch and Jeep runs again. only use one at a time, just saves having to swap the spare in on the road/trail, where ever...
