Project "AZZ DRAGGER"

What issues with the rad cap?

Stayed with mechanical linkage because I had the parts to make it. Would have required more time, work, parts and $$$ to put hydro in. I may switch to hydro if this set up doesnt work like I want it to, but probably not.

The two guys I know that used that cap said they didn't pressure release well. And one of the two actually leaked. They may have been using a different (cheaper?) cap that was some chinese POS but I don't know. IMHO I'd just get a good ol Stant and call it a day. :)
And I get ya on the run what ya brung for the linkage...I was just curious. I'm not looking real forward to installing my hydro set up but I'm sure my leg will appreciate it when ever I get around to it. Haha!

I just got a case of the warm fuzzies to go with my morning coffee... :)
Awesome! Congrats!!!!!!!!

Whaa-Hoooo! :bacon::bacon::bacon:

That is NOT a SMALL update! Nice.

Extending a wiring harness sucks... Just saying.

Well, I extended the wiring harness at the computer, approximately 10".... every single wire... all 4 billion wires... :banghead:

Mounted the computer to the inner passenger side fender using a factory GM computer mounting bracket.

pretty much finished the wiring under the hood, just have to secure the harness to the firewall.
Fan wired up. used 2, 70 amp relays for HIGH and LOW speed. Its controlled by the computer (hopefully, have yet to test it) I also wired in an override switch, OFF, and HIGH.

Mounted the fuse block for the engine harness on the battery mount. Also mounted the fuse for the rad fan too.

only have a few minor things to do (besides make front shock towers and skid plates)
Will get back at it probably on Tuesday. HOPEFULLY drive it out of the garage on Wednesday. Thursday or Friday get tubing bent up for shock towers...

also got a new sign for the garage. :D

I have heard from a reliable source that the computer does not like having the wiring harness extended. Something to do with added resistance. Hopefully you don't have any of those problems... I would think using the same gauge/quality wire and soldering all connections would eliminate any issues. Probably best to get another harness and splice the two together so there's only one splice per wire.

As soon as I read that I went into the garage and measured the resistance on a couple of the left over wires I cut. There was 0.4-0.5 OHMs resistance.
Hopefully I dont have any problems.

I was thinking of getting another harness but i'm not going to splice it again unless i have problems. Takes for ever to solder 5 billion wires!!

Small update... Drove the Jeep today!!!!

Heres a play by play of how it went down...
Rolled it out of the garage, onto the street and fired her up. (didnt start it in the garage since Connie is working nights and she was sleeping)
Popped the clutch, nothing...
Sh!t, t-case wasnt in gear... Put it in 2 high...
Popped the clutch, nothing...
Sh!t, havent installed rear driveshaft yet..
For some reason i put it into 4 low...
Popped the clutch, nothing...
Sh!t! Im a dummy, so i put it in 4 high... (i know doesnt make a difference, but my mind was thinking of other issues)
Popped the clutch, nothing...

At this point i'm starting to panic. My buddy is watching me laughing his head off...
Then he says... (asshole). Did you lock the hubs? (prick)
So i get out and lock the hubs...
Popped the clutch and drive the Jeep back into the garage.... ( just wanted to turn it around)

So i drove the Jeep 50'. It was awesome!!!

Then i went outside and noticed the long circular oil spill.... Power steering overfilled leaving a nice path showing exactly where i drove it. Lol

Congradulations on such a mementious occasion. I know that feeling. Hope to feel it again very soon.

York Compressor mounted.

Cant really see it but had to use a LS1 tensioner. Had to build a bracket for it and flip it around so it would work with the way I had to run the serp belt for the York.

York feeds a small tank, (paint ball tank). It has been drilled and tapped for the feed, regulator, ARB lines and the output line which feeds the front and rear tanks (bumpers)

Today I (hopefully) finish the front shock mounts...
