Re-Build is Progressing!

Some of you may know that some poor driving skills (by me) while at the 2005 Colorado Scramble lead to some major damage to my Scrambler. I am now starting the process of a frame up. I found a used frame from Duffster in Phoenix and I finally got it yesterday, just in time for Chirstmas.

Note angle of bumper it used to straight!

Damaged area of old frame just in front of driver side body mount

front clip, motor, trans and xfer case removed

bent/broke rolling chasis to car wash for cleaning

new/used frame from Phoenix (super shape)

But you still da-man Brother......lol.

Jason,
Been wondering how the progress has been going. You have factored in the timeline for Moab, right????:p
Lets see some pics.:D

Okay I hope I have this picture thing working now.

Frame is blasted, me and a couple of my welder buddies worked on the front frame plates this weekend. The frame plates, I drew plans (autocad) for and had one of our business partners cut them out on their laser. I had to adjust a few of the holes but other than that fit up was pretty good. I have now drawn up some rear frame plates that will extend 6" in from the end and will run up to the body mount just infront of the rear wheel. I am now waiting for the first one to come in so I can test fit up.

Ready for Moab?

Looking good there Jason...you gonna have it ready for Moab? I sure would like to import the drawings you have.
It would be worth a couple beers I think....:D

Good Idea

I think those frame plates are a good idea, after seeing what happened to you in CO, i am adding those to my frame!

Well, got a little more work done to the frame this past weekend.

Added some middle frame plates to the inside of frame, these will overlap the plates I am putting on the outside. Passenger side was pretty easy no interferences but had to cut off the parking brake brakets and re-attach on the drivers side.

Also put some rear reinforcement strips on the bottom at the rear spring hangers.

Jason, Hope to see you in Moab and Colorado this summer. Looks like you have a nice plan laid out. Just don't go rock mashing like the last time. Crawl it not gun it...

Take care buddy.

Jason, hope you got plans to drop in a V8.........you're gonna need it to move that much steel!:D :p

The rear frame plates I made patterns for and drew out with AutoCad and had cut with a laser cutter came in today. Fit up looks great, a few minor adjustments needed with the grinder and to the pattern. Hope to get them welded up this weekend.

So Jason, are you paranoid about busting up your frame or something? ;)

Nice job, it looks great!

those plates rock

how much did it cost to get those plate made they rock, I am having problems finding some one here to make some

Jason, are you going to work a deal with Matt to but these in the for sale section on the web page?? These are looking damn stout! Nice fit.
