Re:1982 Scrambler frame, rolling chassis in Michigan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello

I am interested in buying the 1982 Scrambler frame, rolling chassis that you have placed for sell now, and I would want to enquire about the present condition of the above mentioned, as well as some detail about you. I expect this timely enough.

As for the payment, I would need you to get back in touch with the last asking price as I will be paying with a certified cheque.

Lastly, please forward to me your full company's (or house address, telephone and fax) details as I will subsequently prefer reaching you through these facilities.
Yours interestingly,

Raymond Griffiths

Should you need to reply to me, Please get back in touch with your details to me at: texmy005@yahoo.com for a quick reply.

What are you worried about? Sounds like a pleasant English chap to me! :D

Actually, I couldn't help laughing about two or three times as I read the wording and sentence structure!

thanks for the heads up, though...you never know when somebody will get taken by a scammer!

I got a nearly verbatim offer to buy a carb and manifold. How did the Prince of Nigeria get my CJ-8 acct? :)

Yep- he wants to buy my stuff too. I sent him a polite "get lost" reply. Funny- the name "Raymond Griffiths" sounds familiar...

Dang....do a google search "Raymond Griffiths scammer"....this guy, or at least his name, get around!

3 strikes, he's out. Time to get banned.

Here is good tip for spotting a scammer... they are mostly not in the US and will use "English" spelling and poor grammer when trying to scam you.

Add One More To The List

I emailed the guy/gal back in hopes that the classified scams have not made it to the forums. But as stated above I've recieved this type of email before. Only it was from adds on craigslist.

here's what he sent me:

Oh, good, glad it worked out for someone at least

:rotfl:

happened to a bussy of mine, a cop. he played along for a bit and gave the guy directions to his house as "the one on the left with the Cop cars in the driveway" strangely enough, the driver never came to pic up the items.
