SJScrambler - Getting Started

I've had awfully good luck with the PB laser, as long as I start soaking it a week to ten days in advance.

This is some extreme rust.
I headed up those bolts with oxy-acetylene and they were glowing red hot... hit them with an impact with torx attached... some spun right out and others would go 1/2 turn then back and forth and back.
If they weren't torx, it would have been harder hit with the impact.
Because of the torx, I am so afraid of stripping them.
Remember, with extreme rust, the tops of these bolts sat in salt/water, so there isn't as much gripping area.
I also have to clean out those torx areas very well before proceeding.

Anyway, ti is done, the rollbar/top/doors are off to their new owner as of last night.

I have to get the body cut next and removed.
I am going to use the back part and the front is going to a friend that is doing a YJ tub swap.
I keep all those parts to convert, as you never know.

The bulkhead is going to its new home Thursday along with some other parts.
Looking forward to moving all these parts out and getting back on the truck.

Tearing Jeeps apart is good for extra $$ for the projects, but it is murder on your hands and knees.

Frame has a few patches, but so far it is decent... hopefully the rear is in decent shape and I can recoup some money when I sell it.
Usually the frames up here are wasted and I don't get anything but scrap for it.

I have help coming tomorrow night to remove the rest of the body, which will ultimately become 90% of the truck bed.
After that, remove the drive train (also for the truck), remove the rest of the parts and sell off the frame.

I hope to be back working on the truck next week.
No more buying Jeeps (unless it is a smoking deal) for a while... my body needs to heal.

Gas Tank Skid and strap... someone made a very nice skid plate... not sure on the seat belt retainer strap though...

Finally... the frame is mostly stripped... will be tonight and then I get to work on making the truck bed out of some new parts and this 3/4 body.

The T176/D300 is going in the truck behind the 304 from the other project I picked up.
It is going to be nice with the 3.54 gears.

I am getting excited to work on this again... been a while.

BTW, Frame is for sale... but it does need some work.
I have it in the list of parts for sale that I have in the for sale section.
I didn't want to put the ad in here if it violates the rules... but the frame is in NH CL if you are looking... lots of pictures in there.

Seat belt strap is a interesting idea. Wouldn't do it but as long as the latch part isn't against the tank would hold and be easier to remove. I've seen worse where you had to cut it out to remove the tank.

Looks like a piece of a trailer hitch used for a muffler hanger

Body is off and now the work starts to fix the rear part for the bed of the truck... best part of shoddy repair work is that it usually comes off pretty easily.

Got all the shoddy repairs ripped out and now it is time to flip her over and see what has to be replaced (after removing the fender flares that were not helping themselves last night at all).

Looking at that I am guessing CE will be getting another sizeable order from you, I quite like the stretched multicoloured Jeep look its certainly a one off at the moment!

I have some of the parts already, which will be starting shortly... I had to pack up a large order and ship it out last night and now the weather is once again not cooperating.
I hope to get back to this a bit tonight and into the weekend / next week.

I'm amazed you're going ahead with that tub... but then, I'm amazed at what you've done already!

It's going to turn out great!

I don't really have much of a choice... not too many pristine tubs availed to me to cut up ;)
