I spoke with Mike at Classic Enterprises about them producing the Scrambler rear wheel well lip. Said they would like too but can not find a decent set from an original Scrambler to sacrifice to make a stamping die/template.

Yeah, I had emailed back and forth a while ago... and nothing really came of it, which is understandable... not a ton of demand I would think.
As for what is available out there, you can get side panels for them, but the forming of it and angles and size, etc. of the lip is way off.
I saw them and decided against it and then the whole fender idea came about... it is good enough for what will be under a fender flare, but if you were going fender flare-less, then you would want some really nice looking metal there with no holes for fender flares.

Are you going to use seam sealer where the rocker guards attach after painting?
I haven't gotten that far in my thinking, but more than likely yes.
I don't have it on my CJ7 like that and water has collected after wheeling/washing... so probably not a bad idea.

Although, let's be honest, this thing will be babied and only driven in warm months, no salt/snow/rain ;)

get on the SPI users forum I’d you’d like to see some super nice work by guys just like CB. He needs to post his work over there, they’d love him!
I am not aware of that forum, do you have a link... I looked quick and it seemed to be polyurethane that came up.

So the hood rod has been bugging me... on the CJ10a tug tub it must have had to be very wide to accommodate a battery or the diesel specific stuff... not sure... in comparison to the CJ tubs, it was a good 8 inches to the left of where it is needed for stock rods.

I never got the tug rods, so I couldn't use that... and it would be on top of the battery probably... so anyway, I moved it.

Removing paint reveals some interesting things...

Cleaned and ready for welding

So, the rods fit now as expected.

Next up is the corners. Had to move the cab forward to make room to get behind it.

I need to fill in a hole and then figure out how I will cut it down and end it where the back piece of the cab is... but lots of progress so far.

Kids were playing outside as the temp wasn't horrible in the sun (8 inches of snow coming shortly... lol)... so I had some scrap and showed them about welding and how hot this stuff gets.

They were holding their hands over it to warm them up like it was a fire... I explained that if they actually touched it... bad things.

That's it for now... more social distancing, remote learning, remote working and snow on the way.

How much does that slider/step bar thing weigh? Looks substantial. Progress is good for your sanity. The house if full here and we're all doing something "distantly". 8" of snow would make for a nice gym class setting, maybe on a 4 wheeler!

I can pick it up myself and get it on/off of there, but I think I did some damage to my knee last night in doing so ;)
