What about CJ7 style doors with a filler panel in the upper rear corner

Something tells me that our boy could make that look just fine and I bet it wouldn't even end up looking like a filler panel, he'd just remaster the rear of the cab to have the proper corner and it would end up looking like it was that way when it left the factory. :smokin:

Interesting idea... I do have a set of newer style CJ door shells... have to think about that one... it would solve a few issues from a design perspective.

I vaguely remember that... also he made corner fills for the JK's I think too, or was it the pickup... either way, he has done something similar before.

I think the square corner looks fine. My eye catches on the line between the cab and door and the scoop out there. Kills the flow of lines. Lots of hard lines, then suddenly a soft transition. Just looks off.

I think he reposted it recently. Dont remember where though. I might have a copy I save floating around, but it would take me a long time to find it in the archive pile.

Oops, too late. Repost already found.

Thanks, taking a look now... but I had an idea as well, have to measure something I have in the shed, but I think it might work.

Those can't go away because of the full hard doors.

I agree, they are required for the full doors, but leave an odd legacy on the half doors. A set of full doors with the window channel chopped off might look better? Also thought making some fillers that are attached with magnets so they can be there with half doors would look better. But then the half door would end under front of the pillar.

In the end, I think it looks good and these are nit picky details that only would matter on a "ridler" custom.

Pretty busy for the next week, but if I can sneak out and find my shells and some hinges, I will hang the OG CJ doors and measure the area that I need and see if my leftover bin will do the trick

Up above there was talk about using the round corner door on this. If you haven't notice this thread, take a look at it. It has round doors with the square corner. Up in CJ 8 SC Ramblings
LHD CJ8, with Isuzu diesel for sale in Austria

Yeah, that is cool looking... I have to come up with something, my other idea didn't pan out.

Random shots from the weekend where I squeezed in a couple hours getting those hinges off the old doors for the "new" ones... they are really nice shells, just a lot of surface rust. It came off pretty easily on the driver side.

I like these doors better, I have to say, but will definitely need a filler panel.

Santa came early as well... the little one wanted these mats for her truck, so here they are.

The top is not on fully and I think it is due to the windshield frame being tweaked... there is a dent on the passenger side vertical outside piece and I think that pushes that side in and the driver side is popping forward as the gaps are way off on that side.

I will have to dig up another windshield frame and swap it out and see what happens, but that is for another day, Christmas is coming and there are people inhabiting my house for the next few days.

I like the old school KC Off road lights on the roll bar. Makes all the difference in the look/stance of the truck.

Couldn't you take the top squared off corner from the other set of door and "graft" them in place of the CJ style radius corner and have glass cut to fit the new window? It looks like you've got all the parts there to put it together...

I am pretty sure there are people on this forum that would hunt me down and maim me for life if I cut up a set of those doors as they are pretty rare.
The plan is to sell them to recoup a bit of money.

I think he meant, make CJ-10 doors from 7/8 doors, not the other way.

The door glass is not flat plate, it has a complex double curve. Really needs to be custom cast. I have a contact for a company that might be able to repro the glass. I just need to find the time to make patterns and send them to the company. Next step is cost feasibility, these would be very low demand pieces, causing the unit price to be more than most would pay.

So the doors are specific to the 10?

I'm saying to go out to your warehouse and get a set of take-off 7 doors and rob some solid door frame channel from them to make the angled top rear corner necessary for the top.
