New member here. I am wanting to find plow options for a 1981 CJ8 Scrambler. I am having problems finding anything with the major plow mfrs (ie. Boss, Meyer, etc). I would like at a minimum put a hydraulic plow....and ideally, one that vet's.

Thanks in advance'

I have a plow set up in va, everything but the blade. No idea how to ship it to you thought...

Maybe the easiest shipping and maybe the cheapest would be using
Fastenal store to store.

I plowed with my first CJ8. Still have the setup and a spare pump. Not for sale but I see setups for sale with a huge price swing $200-$1200. Location may dictate price. Also if somebody is tired of moving it around by hand(sucks) it may be dirt cheap.

I doubt anybody still makes a new one for CJ's. If they did, expect to pay over $4000. Unless it was a homeowner version. There are homeowner light duty ones that fit into 2" receivers. No power angle.

Do the blower motor upgrade and make sure your heater core is flowing good and you will be plowing with you windows open some for sure.

I’m not looking to buy something off this forum. I am looking for advice of what to buy. I plan to purchase a new setup.

Thanks. That is good to know.

Get a Myers E47, 6'-6" power angle. There are several listed in the Cleveland/Canton/Akron, OH area.......~$500 complete
That's a decent price. I paid $1100 for mine 30 years ago with 2 pumps

Finding a new setup for a CJ may prove quite difficult. I’ve run Meyers plows for about 40 years. Decent enough product and it’s been around for a long time. Plenty of support for parts, oem and aftermarket. My last plow that I got in 2015 for my RAM 2500 was a Meyer Lot Pro, cost about $8-9k installed.

Prices for new plows are absolutely insane nowadays

I agree, if I were to put a plow on my new 2024 RAM 2500, it’d probably be $12k or more. I don’t go with the low end models, I like the features on what I have.IMG_6450.jpeg

It’ll rattle your teeth pretty good, but it also trips and will fold over.
I'm well aware. Used a 1977 GMC 2500 for years. Bulletproof! We called it "Billy", as in hillbilly. It dropped rust flakes every time you shut the door!

FWIW a guy I buy parts from quite a bit has a full set-up down here in NC. He’s in Lexington, NC. I can share details if you’re interested

You’re not going to find a new modern set up for a 46 yr old Jeep.

Thanks. I have to admit that the ad is dubious based on the information provided and the videos.
