SOA National for 2007...

Well like year one and two I'll be thinking of you all from here at home when you all are havin' fun. :(

For any one who hasnt been to one its pretty darn cool. Its just hard to get to talk to everyone for a long time. But meeting everyone is the cool part, oh yeah and you get to do some wheelin' too...lol.

I'm in - and I can lend a hand scouting or helping locally. I'm about 2.5 hours away, but make it to the area a few times a month for work(usually without the Jeep).

I'm ready now - do we have to wait until 2007?

Thanks Roger, there will be things to do. We'll be in touch.

The Osprey's gonna have to migrate!!

Finally something on the eastern half of the U.S.!!!! Guess I can't whine this time and have to start making plans. Day to day and half drive? I'm going to do all I can to get to this one next June, still haven't made any other events or had the 8 farther than the muddy fields and marshes around home, guess she's due for a road trip. :)

Now on to important issues, like food! I'm thinking I should shoot an extra deer this fall just to have enough of our special Chesapeake venison/crab brats to bring for the grill. Mmmmm. Any takers?

blue crab?

Yup. Blue crab, venison, seasonings and a bit of pork, ground and done in links for grilling. Sounds different, but it's incredible. Had one whole doe made into that last season, ended up with nearly 50 pounds of links, all gone by May!

Here's the link to the guy's shop, he's also getting started with crab/pork versions for sale in stores, called Chesapeake Bay Brats. http://www.tuckahoewhitetailcuts.com/

I've already made my hotel reservations at the Comfort Inn.

I'm there with you, bud. Made the reservations last night. Tried to do it over the internet, but it kept coming up as unavailable, so I called. They are not booked full, and this early it's cheap as heck!! :D

Hey Canzo. I am trying to help RJ get a Dana 44 housing to him down in Atlanta Do you think that you might be able to run that out to the ride if I can get someone from the south to shuttle it that way for him?

Also I am getting a TF999 auto and back seat from Kohlada that needs a ride back towards my house. Espically if you have the room. I am not going to be able to make this trip unfortunately.

Carl

No sweat, Carl. Plenty of time to work that out! :D

You do realize you are posting on the 2007 National thread, right?

Isn't Kohldad coming to Oak Ridge?

I already got my welder friend, Joe to comitt to coming over with me :D

This is his ride:

Working on another local guy now ;)

nice color

man.. lot of copy cats on that color on a scrambler.. :D

Boy, had to go back over 2 months to find this thread.

Was wondering how the planning for this is going. Looking forward to finally making one of the national events. :)

Bad news, I'm planning my vacation for next year and it looks like I'm going to Yellowstone again early June with my camper. Looks like I won't be getting home til late June so I won't be able to haul the Scrambler to the National at Windrock. :(

Uh, do I need to point out the obvious here???

Don't plan it in June then!

Eric, you HAVE to go to this one... don't make me beat some sense into you this weekend! ;)

Seriously, I don't think you'll ever see one closer to us than this... there's other months of the year for Yellowstone, I'm quite certain it's open a little more than just June!

Problem is the campgrounds don't open til late May and by late June you have to just about fight to get a site. Then there is the problem of Stephanie starting Tech in the fall so we have to be back home by mid-August.

Therefor the only time that fits is early June, same reason I missed the last two nationals.

What do I need to do to participate in this event without a Scrambler? I'll either have my Unlimited or my CJ-10a (converted for offroad).
