Picked up a 1981 Autumn Gold today just over an hour away. Nice to find one close to home for a change!

Plans are to completely restore the chassis and probably a 304 or 360 in it. Body is in amazing shape so will just restore original paint.

This takes a back seat to the Postal so she’ll sit for awhile but will be in dry storage.

First pics are how the PO found it with a blown engine. He took it apart to build and as we’ve all seen plans changed and it went up for sale.

Nice Scrambler / Nice Trailer !
LOL - Funny thing is that I swear my trailer gets more love than what I haul on it at times!!

Maybe that’s a reflection of the crap I drag home at times?!?! 🤣

Sweet, looking forward to build

Had some time to get things bolted back together / inspect the Jeep front to back. I will be taking her down the day after Christmas to our vacation home where she will rest inside a garage until it’s her time to shine again.

All in all it’s a solid Jeep that will be a fun build after the Postal.

Buff that thing, drop in a driveline, and drive it!

Still not 100% sure of the direction I’ll take with this one but when a 360 and TF999 came up for sale an hour away at a decent price I grabbed them. This is the combo I have in the 83 and it works quite well for my needs.

Too Busy with vacationers on the beach and the wife and daughter are visiting friends… what to do?? Strip interior out of the next project.

Windshield frame has surface rust on the bottom but fine. Bulkhead and tub are great.

Leaving it in patina original paint or repainting? Looks very cool as is.

Current plan is to pull the body and completely do the chassis like usual with powder coat etc. then I’d paint the underside of the tub, inner fenders as well as the engine bay the factory color. At that point just restore the rest of the original paint as good as possible leaving the stripe kit as-is.

my thought process is at that point myself (or a future owner) could rock it like that or if the bug hits can do an easy body on frame repaint in the factory color.

as always plans could change but that’s where I am at the moment
