Throwback Thursday - CJ-8.com style

Now I'm going to have to dig up some "OLD" pictures and learn how to post them on this MAC thing.

Great stuff here!

Thanks Eric.

Look what I did. Just took a picture of the picture. Easy that way. Not great, but easy.

Here are a couple more...

My very first vehicle. 1980 CJ-7 on bald 35" Swampers, broken 4wd, badly rusted out frame, glass tub. (This is how it looked when I bought it) It was stuck here...

The "new" Scrambler, my old CJ-7 (not the same one as above) and Austin's old Jeep.

Nice jeeps. !! .... Spider

Thats not even the worst part of it... It was a glass tub, no tailgate, on the back in the same style of writing is said, "It's got the look!!"

HORRIBLE!!! I hated it and was going to paint it, but I only owned it for 6 months because I couldn't afford fuel for it. It sat most of the time. :(

This was my first scrambler way back in 97 or 98, Back when we lived out in the country and had dial up internet and was just discovering how much info could be had on forums.

My first jeep was a 79 cj7 back when pics were 35mm. Don't remember where I put them. The 2nd was also a 79 cj7. Don't have any first pics but here's some when completed (at least for now).P1040368.jpgP1010716-1.jpg. Here's pics of the before and where I'm at on the 82 cj8 (if I can ever finish it) P1010154.jpgP1000615.jpgP1000578.jpg.

The day I brought it home. My little girl checking it out!

Love those 1/2 doors!

The day I brought my Scrambler home just a little over a year ago. Took 2 trailers, a Jeep Commander and F150 both full of parts to get it here but it was all there. I had to store some parts in my crawl space that night.

Here is the day I brought my '76 CJ7 Levi edition home followed by the day I sold it 5 years later.

And I can't help but share this. This was the '65 Scout 80 that I rescued from my college roommate about 6 years ago. The first pic is how I found it. I sold it back to him after I took care of the mechanicals because the CJ7 above fell into my lap, I was going through a divorce, and I didn't have time/space/money for 2 projects. Sadly, he parked it back under the same tree and it has sat there since. :(

My wife is very understanding. Under the cover beside it in that old pic is her '65 Corvette we bought from her dad. Her earliest memories are of them taking that car out for ice cream, etc.. When he offered it to us at half it's value, we still didn't have enough cash. I sold the CJ7 to cover the rest. I swore I'd never sell that thing.

Needless to say, she said "Your're Good" from here on out when it comes to my Jeeps. She has her Vette. :headbang:

I scanned a few oldies of my 1985 CJ7. I bought it in 1992 and drove it as a daily driver till 2002. Many, many, memories of irresponsible youth, rolled it twice! It was bone stock with white wagon wheels when I bought it. Tube bumpers and saw blade wheels where the coolest back then!

Never seen lights mounted there. I think we need to bring that trend back!!

A little photo essay. The first pic is my Scrambler, in front of the family home, in February 1987. I haven't cleaned off the snow, and the nose is a little high, because there is no motor in it. This was a couple of days after I grenaded the 258. The yellow Thing behind it is the first car I ever bought, the 8 was the second.
