Well finally start building

Ok folks thanks I will keep sending progress. Question for you. As I work on this project I'm always looking at what would be more conveniently done now rather than when complete. I'm sure there are spots on this forum specifically for lockers. Now let me preface this I'm not sure what this builds life is going to be but doing my best to cover as many possibilities as I can (thus rear frame stiffening for possible small trailer). And no I don't have deep pockets (unless the COLA is 60% :bacon: ). I have 4 wheeled enough to now the limits / frustration of open diff. What are your thoughts on lockers? Yes I'm buried in U Tube researching. Not building this to be a trailer queen (but when I'm done she could be). Building to hopefully travel to some jeep events and just escape the nonsense. Then hand down to my son to give him a rung on the ladder of enjoyment.

Yes, to lockers. I have ARBs in both ends. Unless it’s a road trip, they get used, pretty much, every time out. Not constantly, but here and there. Yes, there are by-passes and times when you can just plant your right foot down and make it.

What rear axle are you running? I'm probably going to part out my AMC 20 including the Ox locker and 1 piece shafts if interested.
 
Everything going as one would expect slower than I want but life life gets in the way (even when retired). I was getting ready to apply the lizard skin to the inner body and then said to myself slow down hotrod lets get some more panels. Shit you forget there's a lot more panels to a jeep than you thought. At least in my case : 2 metal half doors nice shape ( originally blue :unsure: ). 2 metal full doors (originally white :unsure:). Grill, front fenders, dash panel, rear bulk head I haven't started sanding yet to see original color. But with being said I guess if the parts come from the proper doaner than chill out this ain't going to friggen Pebble Beach.

Oh by the way. Was it available to have wind wings (side vents) for the full doors and can you find them?

Yes, some full metal doors had wind wings. Just another place for the wind to whistle. Fixed ones make less noise.

You missed Pebble Beach, it was this past week. Maybe next year, but the invitations are really hard to get.

My '83 came with the side vents, also be aware that the padded dash pad is different as the ends are indented so the vents can operate with the doors closed and not impact the pad.
 
Thank you. Just disassembled pass side full door. Man take your time that's a rubics cube. All came apart with no real (damit moments) I think I'm just going to run with no vented window. My windshield frame has some bad rust issues (would take some serious time to resolve). Been looking into new (no one seems real happy with what's out there) any thoughts?

Just checking out your build thread super cool. In a couple photos I see your fuel tank and it appears to be the same one I have. You got any idea on who manufactured them?
