Getting too old to swing the splitting maul so I finally got around to sticking the pieces together for my splitter. Only purchased parts have been the cylinder and control valve, all the rest is one mans trash is this mans treasure[emoji2]
I had to bevel the 1" plate with a torch to make the wedge

I think I'm going to put a piece of 1/2" square stock on the foot to concentrate the compressive force directly in line with the wedge. Think stress concentration point.

Have to mount the control valve and make the 3 point attachment so I can use it horizontal or vertical and paint
